Faron plopped onto the sofa when he heard that. He had a distracted look in his eyes.
Orin said slowly after a moment of silence, "This can't be helped, so you should listen to me."
"That's right. Your dad's future is also tied to your future. You better steer clear of trouble," Shannon said.
Faron silently shook his head and said, "Wilbur helped us so much. Half of what you achieved is because of him."
"I know, but when it comes to power, I have to make a choice," said Orin while frowning.
Faron was silent for a long while. He said slowly, "No. Wilbur is my friend. He's like a brother to me, and he takes good care of me. He made me a cultivator, so I can't just cut him off like this."
"Son, we also helped Wilbur a lot. Don't forget that we don't owe him anything. You should listen to your dad," said Shannon.
Faron lowered his gaze and put his hands over his face. He looked like he was in extreme pain.
Orin sighed and said, "We all have our struggles in this world. You should get over it. There are a lot of things that are just out of our control."
"Let me think about it, alright?" asked Faron while covering his face.
Orin nodded and replied, "Think it through carefully."
…
Meanwhile, in the meeting room of the Kiwanis Club Headquarters, Wilbur closed the last document and stretched. He said, "I'm finally done with the documents. Book a plane ticket for me. I'm going back to Seechertown."
"Are you leaving so soon, sir?" asked Braum while frowning.
Wilbur smiled and replied, "I've told you that you guys are in charge of this place. My home is in Seechertown."
Braum looked at Eileen, and she smiled faintly.
She knew that Wilbur was heading back to Sealake Island because that was his cultivation base, and his friends were there. He would not stay in Magic City for long.
However, she had achieved her goal. Wilbur was finally in charge of the Kiwanis Club.
Wilbur did not have a clear goal for the moment, but she believed that Wilbur had a plan.
His parents were his motivation, so he would unlock every mystery about his parents.
She finally realized how scary the Kiwanis Club was.
Moreover, she realized that Eileen, Braum, and Wilbur were terrifying people.
Working for them filled her with hope for her life. She felt like she was out of the woods. All of her suffering was worth it.
Eileen and Braum knew about her past.
Eileen hugged Ivy and gently caressed her back.
Wilbur saw that and it made his eyes twitch a little.
Eileen licked her lips and asked, "Are you not going to leave?"
"Don't corrupt the youth," said Wilbur before he entered the boarding area.
Eileen chuckled and left while hugging both Ivy and Braum.
