Chapter 510 Parteners In Crime (Part 1)
*Selena*
Blair looked exhausted, her shoulders slumped, and her eyes were wet and sad. I knew she had been going through a tough time.
"Blair, you know, you can always count on me. Talk to me whenever you want," I suggested, reaching out to gently place a hand on her arm. I wanted her to know that I was there for her, ready to listen whenever she needed to vent her pain.
"Thank you, Selena," Blair sighed, looking at me softly. "Please don't tell anyone about it. Especially not Zander. I..." She hesitated as if struggling to find the right words. "I don't want anyone to feel pity on me."
Liar!
I knew she was trying to save Maddox from trouble. Zander was very protective of his baby sister.
However, I gave her a knowing smile and raised a finger to my lips, gesturing to zip them shut. It was not my place to tell her brother about her secret.
"But you have to help me in return," I shrugged, lifting a brow while giving her a sly smile.
Blair looked at me, amused and curious.
"What?" she huffed out a laugh, her interest piqued.
I couldn't help but smile, thinking about my plan.
"Blair, actually, when I left the pack house, I forgot to take my ring from Zander. He still has it and now I want it back. But I know if I ask him, he will never give it to me," I explained, pausing to gauge her reaction. She watched me with genuine interest, waiting for me to continue. "So I was thinking of taking it myself from his room."
Blair's eyebrows rose in surprise.
"So, you want me to help you enter his room?" she asked, her voice filled with intrigue.
I shook my head.
"No, I can enter," I assured her and she cast a slanted gaze at me, smirking. I shrugged. "But you have to be my lookout. Make sure Zander or anyone else doesn't enter the room while I'm inside. You have to hold them outside the room. Will you do this for me?" I asked, biting my lip nervously.
Blair's eyes sparkled mischievously as a grin spread across her face.
"Yes, Selena, we've done it before, and we can do it again," she replied, winking at me.
I knew it. She was my partner in crime, always up for an adventure.
*******
"Go inside, Selena, and come soon," Blair suggested, her voice filled with urgency and concern.
I nodded, exhaling sharply.
After all, who would dare risk their lives by stealing from the Alpha King?
"Get away from my way, Blair," Zander growled, his impatience evident in his voice.
"No, brother, stop! Why are you avoiding me? Stop, wait, talk to me," Blair pleaded, attempting to stall him.
But it was too late. The door swung open, and I spun around, my heart pounding in my chest, when I came face to face with the devil himself.
"Selena Ardolf! What are you doing in my room?" Zander's voice boomed with accusation, his gaze piercing like that of a predator watching its prey.
He locked the door behind him, trapping me inside.
What the hell?!
"Alpha, I came here to clean your room. Now, my work is done, and I am leaving," I replied, bowing slightly, keeping my eyes lower, and attempting to sound casual, not nervous.
I moved to get past him, but he blocked my path, his intense blue eyes drilling into me.
"As long as I remember, this is not the cleaning time. So tell me honestly, why are you here?" Zander questioned, his voice laced with danger.
Goddess, his gaze was so penetrating, as if he could see through my very soul.
