Leaving You Bereft (Willow and Julian) novel Chapter 80

Julian personally put the pendant around Willow’s neck. “I got this as a good luck charm for you. It’s said to be highly effective.”

Willow wanted to remove it, but he grabbed her hands, his gaze intense. “With this gift, I want you to be safe, happy, and free from worry for all your years.”

Willow turned her face away, avoiding Julian’s affectionate gaze.

That night, they were forced to share a bed.

One by one, the lights in the bedroom dimmed until the room was completely shrouded in darkness.

The darkness heightened their senses, especially for Julian. He had been celibate for a long time.

Now, the woman he wanted was right next to him, so it was impossible for him to not feel anything.

He knew Willow wasn’t asleep yet, so he reached out and pulled her into his arms.

The thin bathrobes did little to separate their bodies. Julian’s thoughts were running wild. He whispered in her ear, “I want to do it. Do you want to?”

Willow remained silent.

Julian pressed on. “Do you want to? Hmm? I really want to.”

Willow turned her back to him and said coldly, “I told you, I don’t care if you spend money to get what you need.

“Julian, if you have urges, go find someone else. We’re getting divorced.”

Julian had clearly been holding back for too long. He forcefully pinned her down, kissing her with a fiery passion, attempting to ignite her passion…

But Willow just lay there like a lifeless doll.

She knew him well and knew he hated women who weren’t responsive in bed.

After kissing for a while without getting a response, he hugged her tightly in his arms, his Adam’s apple bobbing.

“It wasn’t like this before. Willow, we used to have good times.”

Willow remained silent.

Disheartened, Julian buried his face against her neck, breathing heavily before getting up and heading to the bathroom for a cold shower.

He couldn’t bring himself to force her, afraid that she would resent him even more.

The night was tough for Julian as he had to suppress his urges. There were times he really wanted to just do it.

The sky began to light up.

Just as he was about to fall asleep, a commotion erupted downstairs. A housekeeper rushed up with urgency.

“Bad news! Ms. Burke is here, making a scene.”

Julian sat up immediately. “Catherine Burke?”

The housekeeper replied, “Yes, it’s her. She seems to have something important with her.

“She’s demanding to see Mr. Ziegler Senior. The entire house is in chaos now,”

Julian quickly dressed.

Catherine had come prepared, bringing something important with her. She insisted on speaking with Dominic, Julian’s parents, as well as Julian and Willow.

She felt as if someone had ripped open an old wound in front of a crowd. The pain of that night felt as if it had just happened yesterday.

Even though she no longer loved Julian, no woman would ever want her personal struggles exposed and her dignity trampled like this.

Seeing that Willow remained silent, Catherine grew more arrogant. Like a mad woman, she continued, “Willow is infertile, so she can’t be Julian’s wife.

“But I can! I can bear Julian’s children.”

Everyone in the room believed this was the end for Willow. The fact that she was infertile meant that she would be discarded.

Julian wouldn’t want her, and Dominic would despise her even more.

Julian’s expression darkened, and he took a step forward.

Before he could act, Dominic stopped him.

Dominic rose from his chair and slowly walked toward Catherine. In a grim tone, he asked, “Do you want to have Julian’s child?”

Catherine replied confidently, “That’s right. I can give him many children.”

Smack!

A vicious slap landed across Catherine’s face.

Dominic sneered, his face darkened. “Who do you think you are? Do you think you’re worthy of that?”
