Leaving You Bereft (Willow and Julian) novel Chapter 41

Willow heard those words for the second time tonight. A whirlwind of emotions surged within her.

Just as she was about to speak, the sound of footsteps echoed from the staircase. A moment later, Julian appeared.

In the blink of an eye, he was at her side.

It was as if the fight from that night had never happened. He looked at Willow and Jeffrey and asked casually, “What are you two talking about?”

Willow’s voice was indifferent. “Just making small talk.”

Julian studied her intently, as if searching for something in her expression. After a pause, he smiled faintly. “Then let’s get together another time. It’s getting late. We should go.”

Before Willow could react, Julian had already taken her hand, his grip firm and unyielding.

Under the bright lights, Jeffrey’s expression turned ice–cold.

Julian smirked as he led Willow past Jeffrey. When they brushed shoulders, Julian noticed Jeffrey’s hand twitching inside his pocket. It seemed like he wanted to reach out to stop her.

Julian stopped in his tracks. His voice was cutting as he said, “I hate when people covet what’s mine. And Jeffrey, you of all people should know that best.

Jeffrey met his gaze, just as cold. “Is that so? I just don’t think you can handle it all, Julian.”

“That’s none of your concem.”

The night was as dark as ink.

A black RollsRoyce Phantom sped down the road. Streetlights cast flickering glows through the windshield, illuminating the faces of the silent couple.

Silence was the unspoken melody of the night.

Willow felt the car moving too fast. She gazed at the dark road ahead and said softly, Slow down, Julian.”

He acted as if he hadn’t heard. Instead, he took her hand, absently playing with her fingers.

“Julian,” Willow called out again.

He glanced at her, his eyes cool and unreadable. Feeling guilty?”

Willow forced a small smile. What would I be guilty of?”

Julian didn’t answer. He floored the gas pedal, making the car go even faster.

Willow seriously thought he must have lost his mind.

Less than 20 minutes later, they arrived at Grandview Manor.

The moment the car stopped, Willow moved to get out, but Julian was faster. He grabbed her wrist and turned to face her. If you’re not feeling guilty, then show

me.

Show him? How?

Willow barely had time to process his words before she found herself lifted into his arms.

Julian carried her straight through the brightly lit living room and up the stairs toward the master bedroom.

Under the crystal chandelier, his face was both restrained and dangerously alluring. But his actions were anything but.

His dark eyes locked onto hers, an unreadable anger simmering beneath.

After a long pause, his voice dropped to a murmur. You’ll find out soon enough.”

Willow hit his shoulder a few more times.

Julian knew what she was thinking. He said indifferently, The housekeepers are all older than us. It’s perfectly normal for a young married couple to be intimate at home. They won’t say anything.

With just a few words, he had already carried her into the bedroom and thrown her onto the luxurious bed.

Willow sank into the soft sheets.

Julian stood at the edge of the bed, watching her as he reached up to undo the buttons of his shirt.

Willow knew there was no escaping this. She turned her head away, refusing to look at his domineering face.

Her nose was slightly red, her lips flushed and swollen. “Julian, I’m not some prostitute you bought. If I don’t want to, you can’t force me.”
