After Willow left, Julian headed off to another place. He went up to the rooftop of the Manning Building.
The black coats that the two men were wearing flapped in the night breeze. Both men gave off the intimidating auras of the
nightjars, which usually came out at night to hunt their prey.
Facing the wind, Julian lit a cigarette. He put it between his lips and drew on it. His cheeks were a little sunken as he pulled on the
cigarette, making his handsome features a lot sharper.
When only half of his cigarette was left, Julian directed his gaze to Jeffrey. His voice was steely.
“I’m calling off all of our collaborative work. Also, I’m putting the divorce lawsuit between me and Willow on hold for now. If I’m
going through with it, I’ll have someone else take over the case instead…”
Jeffrey asked, “Why?”
Julian dropped the butt of the cigarette on the floor and put it out by stepping on it with his leather shoe. His voice hardened even
more. “Jeffrey Gibson, you’re asking me why?”
He threw a punch at Jeffrey’s jaw the next instant. Jeffrey took the punch full–on.
Julian straightened himself. He had an icy look in his eyes. “It’s because Willow is my wife. Have you forgotten about that?”
“Your wife?”
Jeffrey lowered his head and wiped the blood off the corner of his mouth. A small injury like that was nothing to him.
He chuckled as he stared at the bloodstains on his hand. “So, you know that she’s your wife. What were you doing all this time,
then? Even the mere existence of Catherine is enough to make Willow so upset. If she ever finds out about the truth, do you think
Willow will still want to stay with you?
“Dream on! Julian, money isn’t everything.”
After working together for so many years, Julian and Jeffrey were having a fallout for the first time ever.
Julian pulled out another cigarette languidly and lit it. He smirked. “Jeffrey, we’re the same kind of people. You know very well
that sometimes money is everything.”
He met Julian’s gaze. “I won’t divorce Willow. Ever.”
Willow did not contact Julian.
Even between a married couple, it was necessary to be shrewd and calculative in discussing matters where personal interests were involved. Moreover, Willow was not such an impatient and impulsive person.

After seeing Grace, Willow took Heather to the coffee shop downstairs.
The two of them sat opposite each other in the brightly lit coffee shop.
Heather held Willow’s hands and said in a tender voice, “Don’t worry too much. I’m sure there’s hope in curing any disease with
how far the medical sector has progressed. After I learned of this piece of information yesterday, I’ve tried asking around for
more details. Fortunately, I did learn something useful from Mr. Chapman.
“Mr. Chapman said that there’s a surgical expert based in Brindley named Leonard Frost. However, he doesn’t agree to perform
surgeries just for anyone.
“Mr. Chapman doesn’t have the connections to ask for this favor from Dr. Frost. However, the Frost family and the Ziegler family
share a close connection.
“They’re still maintaining a good relationship even to this day. If the Zieglers were to make the request for you, Dr. Frost would
most likely be willing to perform the surgery.”
Heather was aware that Willow was trying to divorce Julian. So, after saying all that, she took a sip of coffee and allowed Willow
some time to think.
