Leaving the Wrong Love Behind Forever novel Chapter 96

"Arthur, come quickly," Wendy beckoned, holding Sylvia's hand as she greeted her son once more.

Arthur tightened his lips and approached, casting a stern gaze at his mother.

Upon seeing him, Sylvia's smile faltered.

"Ms. Bridgewater, the guests are about to enter the venue. You can stay here to welcome them, and I'll head over there," she smoothly withdrew her hand from Wendy's grasp, offered a faint nod to Arthur, and gracefully moved toward the other side.

As she walked away, Arthur's eyes trailed after her, revealing a depth of emotion.

Wendy playfully punched him, chuckling, "You little rascal. Not bad. Sylvia is back, and you kept it a secret from me. You even orchestrated such a lively tea party for her, and you didn’t bother telling your own mother."

He redirected his gaze and spoke calmly, "Mom, you're overthinking. This tea party is solely for promoting Gucci company's perfume, not for any personal reasons."

The smile vanished from her face. This child remains unchanged.

"Mom, Sheryl has already given birth to a pair of children for me. Please don't read too much into it," Arthur said, fully aware of his mother's hopes.

She desired a reconciliation between him and Sylvia. However, that was an unattainable wish. To emphasize this, he added in an indifferent tone, "You know I've never loved her."

With those words, he turned and walked away.

Wendy was displeased, her disappointment evident.

In Arthur's eyes and heart, Sheryl seemed to occupy a special place. Wendy couldn't comprehend what was so appealing about that woman, captivating her son so deeply. She didn't hold any regard for Sheryl! Thoughts of Sheryl always left her feeling upset. Yet, given her son's affection, Wendy found herself at a loss.

Just then, a convoy of luxury cars pulled up.

Feeling a sense of guilt toward Sylvia, Wendy wished to assist in coordinating the tea party. With that intention, she approached the gathering to engage in socializing.

"Hello, Young Miss Wayne. Welcome to the Ritz Paris. Please follow me."

"Hello, Mrs. Bridgewater. Welcome to the Ritz Paris. Please join me."

"No, no, you're too modest. You're the natural beauty, noble and elegant. I'm not even one-third of you." She answered modestly with a smile.

Fortunately, at this moment, Secretary Bridgewater arrived.

"Ms. Jackson, hello. Please take a seat over here," she gestured toward a central VIP chair in the middle and led her inside, rescuing Sylvia from the awkward situation.

Sylvia paused and breathed a sigh of relief.

At that moment, Zia, seemingly intentional, turned back, smiled, and nodded at her, her eyes carrying some deep meaning.

Sylvia felt a bit perplexed for a moment. This girl's surname was Jackson. She seemed to have heard it somewhere before but couldn't recall who she was.

However, tonight, she had a big task ahead and no time to think about such trivial matters.

She turned around and walked outside to greet more VIPs.
