Sylvia's face was filled with uncertainty as she squinted her eyes while looking at him, wondering what tricks the damn man was trying to play again.
She has known him for so long, but she has never seen him speak such thoughtful words.
How can he have any good intentions once he speaks thoughtful words?
"Don't you believe me? Weren't you with Chris and Hendrick last night?" Arthur saw her disbelief and asked immediately.
"Last night?" Sylvia sneered, "Obviously you were drunk and couldn't take care of the child, now you are claiming it was you who kindly sent the child to me. You are really good at making excuses."
"Sylvia, do you think that if I don't agree, Chris and Hendrick can visit you and Jennifer? Would you be able to enjoy the joy of motherhood with your children if I didn't agree?" Arthur narrowed his eyes, and his voice was a little cold.
"Arthur, they are my children. Is it wrong for the children to stay with their mother? Why are you acting so good here if you can't fulfill your responsibilities? I won't accept that." Sylvia's face was expressionless.
"Sylvia, I came here today to discuss the children's matters with you, not to ask for your favor." Arthur stood up.
As soon as the man stood up, his tall body immediately gave Sylvia a feeling of pressure.
Sylvia was forced to take several steps back in shock.
"Also, Sylvia, I can also promise you that for the sake of my children, I will never marry Sheryl." Arthur suddenly spoke slowly.
Sylvia suddenly lifted her eyes and looked at him.
"Sylvia, I will do this to ease our relationship and to let the children enjoy the love of their parents." He pursed his lower lip and explained,
"Arthur, does this mean that I won't be able to get married and have other children for the sake of my two children with you? Everything must be subjected to your arrangements?" she asked with a sneer.
Arthur answered seriously: "Being a parent requires sacrifice. Otherwise, how can you be a role model for your children?"
"Then is it fair for you to treat me like this?"
"Sylvia, think about me. Some time ago, you asked me to sign some damn contract that would not allow me to marry Sheryl. Also, the woman I marry must have the consent of the four elders in my family. Isn’t that an overlord clause for me?”
"That is different." Sylvia immediately objected, "First of all, I have given you the custody of Chris. I just won't let you marry Sheryl. I didn't say you can't get married and have children. I hope you can find a good partner to get married to. Also, you know that Sheryl has harmed my children many times, so I did it out of concern for the safety of the children."
"But Sylvia, for safety reasons, don't I need to make some decisions? Charles's family is also a big family, will you still think about the children when you are with him? You think Sheryl is evil, and I think so too. Charles is very harmful. A man is definitely not less harmful than a woman. The children are still so young. If you are with him, you might get infectious diseases like tuberculosis. I’m really worried." Arthur spoke arrogantly.
