Leaving the Wrong Love Behind Forever novel Chapter 54

"Then what do I do? I guess I'll just have to stick to boiling." Jennifer shrugged her shoulders, her big eyes filled with helplessness.

She truly had no clue about cooking! Hendrick was even worse – he couldn't even identify a potato!

"Simpleton." Christopher playfully tapped her head. "You should learn from your brother in the future, or else you won't be able to get married when you grow up."

"Okay, brother." Jennifer looked at him with admiration and a smile.

Hendrick sat on the sofa with his head down, saying nothing.

Christopher's return meant going back to that home.

And he had no desire to go back at all.

In the recent days, he had been scouring the internet, discovering the fact that he, Christopher, and Jennifer were biological siblings, and Sylvia was his biological mother.

Having spent only a few days with his biological mother, he already felt a strong attachment.

"Brother," Christopher said, patting him on the shoulder. "We're all family now. If there's anything on your mind, just let me know. I'm here to help."

Christopher offered comforting words, sounding more like a little adult than a child.

Having spent three days in the Bridgewater mansion, he had developed a keen understanding of Hendrick's feelings and sympathized with him.

A child without a mother was like a lonely blade of grass, but Hendrick not only lacked a mother but also had to endure the presence of a malicious stepmother, making his situation truly miserable.

Hendrick remained silent for a while before nodding.

Afterward, Christopher turned on the computer, and the three little heads huddled together.

"So hideous, the ugly witch." Jennifer scoffed as she observed the picture of Sheryl striking a pose on the computer, sticking out her tongue in disdain.

"She's really mean and never cares about Hendrick." Christopher concurred, nodding. "She's the one who hurt our mommy, but I guess I've kind of avenged it for mommy."

"Sylvia Lancelot?" Fiona Lockwood stared at her in disbelief. "Didn't she pass away that night in the hospital six years ago?"

"No, she didn't die at all. We were all deceived by that nurse." Sheryl cried, gritting her teeth. "Not only is she alive and well, but she has also become a renowned perfume blender in the United States. The moment she returned to Gucci, she took away half of the equity. Now, Arthur trusts her completely. Mom, what should I do?"

Fiona's eyes widened, rendered speechless, and she stood in a daze.

"Why worry? Arthur has already agreed to marry you. Besides, you have Hendrick and Elaine, while Sylvia is alone. Is it possible that Arthur would abandon what's close to him and seek something far away, disregarding the importance of family?" Fiona tried to reassure her confidently after a while.

Back then, their decision to keep Hendrick had proven fortunate, preventing the Bridgewater family from suspecting Sheryl.

Sheryl sat up straight.

"Mom, what terrifies me the most now is the connection between her and Hendrick. If Arthur discovers it, I'm finished. And you know, Elaine isn't Arthur's child," she added, her voice filled with fear.

Fiona's face darkened with concern.
