"My Queen, are you upset because of that handsome man?" As soon as Sylvia brought Christopher and Jennifer in front of a towering billboard, Jennifer widened her eyes and gazed at her mother's pale face, her voice laced with concern.
Mommy was trembling just a moment ago, and her eyes were brimming with tears when she saw that handsome man! It must be so painful and sorrowful!
Sylvia felt a momentary embarrassment.
She had momentarily forgotten that her daughter was gifted, able to read minds from a young age and comprehend the emotions of others.
She had indeed glimpsed into her mother's heart just now!
"Jen, we mustn't make assumptions about other people's feelings. It's impolite." Sylvia cautioned, gently stroking her daughter's head, and imparting a life lesson with a serious expression.
"I'm sorry, Mommy. I won't do it again, I promise." Jennifer promptly pecked her mother's head and offered a heartfelt apology. Seeing her mother's sadness pained her deeply. "Mommy, please don't be upset, okay? I love you."
She tenderly clasped the back of her mother's hand and planted another kiss upon it.
Sylvia's heart was instantly warmed, and all the negative emotions dissipated.
Her challenging life hadn't been devoid of blessings. At least, God had bestowed upon her a pair of adorable little babies.
She promptly resolved to take the children away from this tumultuous place, far from the clutches of these wretched men and wicked women!
She had faith that wrongdoers would face heavenly retribution.
"How could Mommy stay mad at her precious baby? Mommy loves you more than anything." Leaning down, she tenderly kissed her daughter's rosy cheek, speaking with affection.
"Mommy, baby Christopher wants kisses too." Little Christopher, standing beside them, wore a charming, envious grin on his cool and adorable face.
"Of course, Mommy will give kisses to little Christopher too." Sylvia chuckled at Christopher's endearing expression. She scooped him up, showering his face with affectionate kisses. Then she rose and said softly, "Christopher, Jen, let's head to Grandma's right away. She's eagerly waiting for us."
"You're so silly." Christopher playfully rapped her on the head.
Christopher was clever. When he'd acted cute earlier, asking for a kiss from Mommy, it was all to lift her spirits because she seemed so hurt.
Jen scratched her head, realizing, "Gosh, I'm really silly!"
"Jen, I'll tell you a secret— that handsome man is our dad." Christopher leaned in and whispered in Jen's ear.
Jennifer's eyes widened with surprise, and after a moment, she gave her little brother a peck on the head. "You're right, he looks so much like you; he must be our dad. But it seems like he's been unkind to Mommy. He's not a good father."
"Yeah." Christopher sniffled and nodded, clenching his tiny fists tightly.
‘Hmph, I'll stand up to anyone who tries to mistreat our Queen, even if it's our dad! Don't underestimate kids when it comes to facing grown-ups. I won't let any mean adults get away with it!’
