Leaving the Wrong Love Behind Forever novel Chapter 142

Arthur remained stationary.

With only one large bed in the room and Sylvia having to sleep with the child, he had no place to rest.

She paid him no mind. Surely, he couldn't stand there all night.

Having exerted herself in recent days, Sylvia was genuinely fatigued. The moment she closed her eyes, she drifted off into slumber.

In the late hours of the night, rain began to pour outside, accompanied by flashes of lightning and the rumble of thunder.

In the darkness, she found herself suddenly plunging into an abyssal sea. A deafening roar echoed in her ears, her head throbbed with pain, and her eyes and nose were flooded with water.

Suffocation, agony, unease, fear!

She bent and extended her five fingers, her breath growing shallower.

Hendrick?

With a roar, it felt as if she had been tossed into the clouds. The dazzling light rendered her unable to open her eyes.

She exhaled, succumbed to unconsciousness, and tears streamed down her face.

Amidst it all, she clung tightly to a piece of wood, gripping it with determination, refusing to let go...

The sun bathed every inch of the ward in its light.

Suddenly, Sylvia opened her eyes.

"Ah!" she exclaimed. Beside her, there was a man, and both she and Hendrick were nestled in the arms of this man.

Arthur!

What was happening here?

She hastily sat up.

"Why are you here? Are you trying to take advantage of me?" She was furious, extending her fist to strike him.

He frowned, catching her fist, sat up, and retorted angrily, "Can't you be rational? Last night, you gripped my hand and wouldn't release it. I empathized with you, felt sorry for you!" Then I embraced you, and we lay down."

"Where are you going?" Arthur called after her.

"Mr. Bridgewater, I need to return to work at Gucci. I'll entrust Hendrick to you. I'll be here to spend three hours with him after work," Sylvia replied in a hushed tone.

"No, for these next few days, you must stay here all day," his expression darkened.

"But I still have to go to work." She naturally didn't want to leave Hendrick. The child was severely ill, and it was a crucial time for motherly care. However, Gucci company was facing financial constraints, necessitating the prompt launch of the product.

His eyes turned cold and intense, "Hendrick is gravely ill. He hasn't eaten anything for several days, and he's unwell because of you. Do you have the heart to leave him like this in the hospital?"

Those words struck the most tender and painful part of her heart!

Her face paled. After bowing her head and contemplating for a moment, Sylvia returned, took a seat beside the child, and tenderly grasped his little hand.

Forget it, just a day or two! This was the period when the child required her presence the most, and she genuinely couldn't tear herself away. After all, familial affection was invaluable!

Observing this, the corners of Arthur's lips lifted slightly as he stepped outside.
