Leaving the Wrong Love Behind Forever novel Chapter 140

"Hurry, Arthur, catch up! Are you just going to let her run to the hospital with the baby like this?" Wendy heard Sylvia's voice and swiftly approached. Observing her son standing there in a daze, she promptly urged him.

Upon realizing, he turned around and followed.

Observing her son and Sylvia's departing figures, Wendy let out a sigh of relief. It appeared that her son had heeded her advice and asked Sylvia to be her grandson's therapist.

That was a positive development!

A faint smile played on her lips.

...

At the hospital.

"Mr. Bridgewater, the fever has reached forty-two degrees Celsius. Fortunately, you brought him in promptly. Otherwise, there could have been serious consequences," Dr. Wilson conveyed with a sense of concern.

"Thank you, Dr. Wilson. Please ensure my son's swift recovery," Arthur expressed with a hint of tremor. In this moment, he realized how fortunate Sylvia had been tonight. If not for that stroke of luck, he might not have brought the child to the hospital on time!

His eyes briefly met hers, a rare trace of gratitude flickering in his gaze.

However, she clutched the child nervously, not even casting a glance in his direction.

Throughout the journey, she was agitated, her body ablaze, and by the time they reached the hospital, she was already in convulsions. Fortunately, Arthur had alerted the hospital in advance, and upon arrival, a professor promptly administered a fever-reducing injection and dispensed medication.

"Mr. Bridgewater, there's no need to worry. The child's high fever has subsided, and everything should be fine. However, the patient may need to remain in the hospital for ten days to two weeks. Mycoplasma is challenging to eradicate, but the major issue will be addressed," Dr. Wilson reassured him.

By this hour, it was already well into the night. After bidding farewell, he headed home, and Arthur escorted him out.

"Hendrick, I'm sorry. Mommy should have been here with you sooner." Holding Hendrick on the hospital bed, Sylvia embraced him, planting kisses on his forehead. She felt a sense of guilt, but at least she had arrived in time; otherwise, that guilt would have haunted her for a lifetime.

That infuriating Arthur, what a nuisance he was. He had clearly intended to invite her. If he had only informed her about the child's illness earlier, she wouldn't have spent so much time talking to him, wasting precious moments.

Hendrick lay limp in her arms, already in a deep sleep.

Following the decrease in fever, the child was drenched in sweat, and the hospital gown was thoroughly soaked.

Although she intended to place him on the hospital bed and change his clothes, the little one clung tightly to her garments, as if afraid she might vanish if he let go.

With no other option, she grabbed a tissue and continuously wiped the sweat off his back, all the while logging into the company's WhatsApp account.

With a swift motion, he unlocked his phone, revealing a prompt for the password.

He pressed the buttons several times, but each attempt was incorrect. He glanced at Sylvia.

She shrugged, dismissing the eccentric behavior. She couldn't fathom what he was up to. Last time, he objected to her adding his private contact, claiming she intended to seduce him. Now, when she added him, he insisted on including a personal account with the company's social media. Dealing with a man with such conflicting views was best avoided.

She bent down to tidy the bed, choosing not to engage further with this man exhibiting erratic behavior.

Suddenly, he recollected something, and his expression shifted. Hendrick sat up and reached for the phone.

However, in that instant, Arthur swiftly entered a series of codes.

To his delight, the phone unlocked.

Just then, Sylvia moved to seize the phone. He raised his arms, opened WhatsApp, and directly input his phone number, successfully adding it to WhatsApp.

Sylvia's face turned cold.
