Leaving the Wrong Love Behind Forever novel Chapter 138

Sylvia sighed, "Honestly, in some aspects, your son surpasses you by far. I have affection for him, but I find you quite detestable. Let me make it clear—I can only spare one day a week! I'll take care of your son for three hours."

She had already calculated that Hendrick was in kindergarten and would come home at 4,30 in the afternoon. Since children go to bed early, and she had work during the day, her availability was limited. Thus, she could only dedicate time from 6,30 to 9,30 in the evening. During this period, she would spend some time with him, then return home at 9,30 to take care of Christopher and Jennifer.

Arthur was stunned as he glanced around the office. Gucci company did indeed require her attention. Considering that Hendrick went to kindergarten during the day, this arrangement seemed reasonable.

"Fine, I can agree to that," he said, readily accepting.

In truth, he was pleased that she would spend limited time with his son, which aligned with his preference. Additionally, given the existing tension between Sylvia and Sheryl, having her stay at the Bridgewater mansion might lead to complications.

"Furthermore, as I mentioned, serving as a therapist for your son comes with a substantial compensation, billed hourly," she asserted.

"No issue. State your terms, name your price," Arthur replied without flinching.

"My rates are at the international standard, €1,000 per hour."

Arthur glanced up at her and chuckled, "Can you compete with those international therapists?"

"Let me tell you, to your son, I am more valuable than them. Anyway, the price is still here, whether you like it or not." She sat firmly on the platform, feeling at ease.

Arthur spoke casually, "Okay, I've already said it, money is not a problem. As for whether it's worth it or not, it depends on the effect. Just take good care of it."

"Okay." She agreed.

"Deal." He said.

"Let's proceed with the contract first. Words without documentation lack substance," Sylvia remarked as she opened her computer and displayed the electronic contract. "Review it, and if there are no issues, I'll print it, and we can both sign."

Observing her readiness with the contract, Arthur couldn't resist crossing his arms, tilting his head, and mocking, "You act as if this was preordained. I came to invite you; I don't understand why you need this level of certainty?"

Arthur felt a twinge of irritation. "Let's go. If it weren't for Hendrick being unwell and eager to meet you, I wouldn't have ventured to your office at this hour. Your self-importance comes off as self-righteous and unreasonable."

He decisively turned away and departed, disregarding his mother's earlier threat.

Suddenly, a realization struck her, prompting an immediate outcry. "Arthur, hold on, what did you say just now? You mentioned Hendrick is unwell?"

He paid no heed, storming out in frustration.

He couldn't be bothered to respond to the inquiry.

She understood that her son's ailment might only exacerbate his indifference, as he likely believed she was seeking something from him.

However, to his surprise, Sylvia sprinted after him like a gust of wind, clutching his clothes, and urgently inquired, "Tell me, is Hendrick unwell?"
