Haskell chuckled. “If you stay here, you'll have to sleep in the same room as me. When I stay at your place, I'm at least in the room next door, which is bearable. But if we're in the same room, I'm not sure I can control myself. My legs are almost fully healed, and I don't want to ruin our perfect first night by rushing things.”
Larissa's smile was mischievous. “Aren't you worried that without a ‘rehearsal,’ our first time might be a failure or a bad experience?”
Her teasing made him laugh. He said seriously, “Don't worry, I won't let our first time be anything less than perfect. I promise to give you an experience you've never had before.” He paused, then added with a grin, “And if it really is a failure, I'll just have to make it up to you many times over.”
Larissa laughed at his words. “Oh, a compensation plan. I like that.”
Just then, the amorous atmosphere was broken by the ringing of Larissa's phone. She pulled it out and saw it was Nightveil calling.
She answered. “What's up?”
Nightveil's voice came through. “Josette is crying and screaming, demanding to be let go.”
A smirk played on Larissa's lips, her tone dripping with amusement and scorn. “Heh, she couldn't take it anymore, huh? Alright, I'll be over in a bit to deal with her.”
“Understood.”
After hanging up, Larissa put her phone away and stretched. “Haskell, it's getting late. I should go handle the situation with Fergus and Josette.”
Haskell picked up his cane and stood. “I'll walk you out. Think of it as physical therapy for my legs.”
