Larissa glanced up at her mother's room on the second floor. Perhaps having Finley here would distract her mom and keep her from worrying too much about her dad's situation at the station.
"Fine."
Finley clearly hadn't expected her to agree, and his voice instantly brightened with excitement.
"I'll get ready and come over right away!"
After hanging up, Larissa's expression grew serious. Finley's call had reminded her of something.
If Jedidiah wanted to retaliate, could he possibly target her villagers? Could he take them hostage to threaten her?
Larissa dialed Nightveil's number and gave her two instructions. "Something's come up with Judson Pharmaceuticals, which I'm sure you already know. I need you to have someone monitor Lucius's recent activities."
"Understood."
"Second, my grandfather has retired to Spire Village. I'm worried Jedidiah might try to harm him or the other villagers. Send a few people to keep an eye on things. Report any abnormalities to me immediately."
"Will do."
After briefing Nightveil, Larissa could finally breathe a little easier. She summoned the butler. "Porter, Finley will be arriving shortly. Please let him in."
"Of course, Miss Judson."
An hour later, Porter escorted Finley into the east wing of the villa.
"Miss Judson, Finley is here."
