Magnus scoffed again. "You’ve got some talent and a hell of a lot of luck, kid. Getting to start over abroad… Not like me. Everyone in the industry knows I betrayed my old employer. No one in this town will touch me now."

He sighed, shaking his head. "Looks like we’re in the same boat. You could have had an incredible sister who might have written countless hits for you, taking you to unprecedented heights in the music world. And me, after your older brother Finley was kicked out and Larissa took over, if I had just kept my head down and stayed put, my career could have soared. What a waste."

"Well, good luck," Magnus said, before sighing again and walking away.

Soon after, the other former Starlight employees began trickling out of the HR office, their faces a mixture of anger and regret as they left, defeated.

"I can't believe I left. I'd be in such a good position right now if I had just stayed."
