Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 703

“Two million?!” The man on the other end was clearly stunned, his voice laced with poorly concealed excitement. For most people, two million dollars was an unimaginable fortune, more than they could ever hope to save in a lifetime.

Honora smiled. She knew the offer would be irresistible. “Tonight, at Larissa’s birthday dinner,” she said calmly, “I need you to add something to the food.”

“What kind of something?” he asked, his tone now wary as he realized this wasn’t going to be simple. “It’s not… lethal, is it? I won’t do anything that could kill someone.”

“Of course not,” Honora reassured him quickly. “It’s just a drug that will make people feel sick to their stomachs. It’s completely non-lethal. If the Judsons investigate, you can just say it was an accident. What can they do? Even if they fire you, you’ll still walk away with two million dollars.”

There was a long silence on the other end as the man weighed his options.

Finally, he spoke. “Alright, I’m in. But you need to get the drug to me quickly. The fresh ingredients have already arrived, so time is short.”

“Someone will contact you within the hour to deliver it,” Honora replied promptly.

“One more thing,” the man added, still hesitant. “This is risky. I want a one-million-dollar deposit upfront.”

“No problem,” Honora agreed without a second thought.

She hung up, knowing she couldn’t ask Lucius for the money directly. If her plan succeeded, Lucius would reward her with far more than two million. But after Hendrix Coleman had sold off all her designer bags to fuel his gambling addiction, she was left penniless. Her only option was to borrow the money from Milton.

The thought of asking him for anything, of enduring his inevitable humiliation, made her stomach churn. But she had no choice.
