Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 675

As if all the strength had been drained from her body, Margot stumbled into the room. She forced a brittle smile onto her face. “Darling, you’re home today…”

Before she could finish, Livia let out a scornful laugh from the sofa. “That’s right. Dad took the day off just for you. Aren’t you thrilled?”

Fighting back a wave of terror, Margot continued, “Really? I’m overjoyed.”

Damon’s face was a thundercloud. He looked up, his eyes cold and hard. “You’re not going anywhere today.”

“Of course not,” Margot said quickly, trying to sound sincere. “I was planning on staying home to spend one last day with our son.”

Tears welled in her eyes, spilling down her cheeks like a broken dam.

Livia’s lips curled into a mocking sneer. “Are you sure he’s ‘our’ son? Yours and Dad’s? And not yours and Herbert’s?”

Margot turned to Livia, her face a mask of wounded innocence. “Livia, how can you say such a thing? I know you’ve always held a grudge against me, convinced I was responsible for your mother’s death, but I wasn’t! Your father and I truly love each other. Why won’t you believe me?”

“Oh, yes, a love so true you bore my father another man’s child. I’m so moved, I could cry,” Livia retorted, no longer baited by Margot’s theatrics. She knew, with absolute certainty, that this time Margot was finished. No amount of acting would save her now. Not when she had crossed the one line her father, as a man, could never forgive.

Ignoring Livia, Margot turned her tear-streaked face to Damon. “Darling, you know how I feel about you. Someone must be trying to drive a wedge between us again. They can’t stand to see how happy we’ve been for over twenty years.”

Damon’s voice was dangerously low. “It’s because I thought I knew how you felt that I trusted you completely. It’s why I never once suspected Theon wasn’t my son!”

“But he is your son!” Margot sobbed.
