Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 603

“You say she’s your sister, but where’s the proof? Without any, you’re looking at three days in a cell.”

What proof could Finley possibly offer? He’d only brought his ID, a phone, and a few changes of clothes. Even if he had their family’s official documents, Larissa’s name wasn’t on them. There was no way to prove he was her brother.

“Alright, that’s enough excuses,” the officer said dismissively. “You got bit by a snake, and the folks who found you were kind enough not to press charges. Consider yourself lucky. Three days in here will give you time to reflect. Maybe you’ll think twice before trying to steal again.”

Another officer added, “You’re a decent-looking guy. You’ve got two good hands. Why resort to thievery?”

Vivica, who had been listening from the doorway, stormed in. “Who are you calling a thief? My son is not a thief! How dare you make such accusations!”

She puffed out her chest. “Do you have any idea who he is? He’s the heir to the Judson family, one of the most powerful families in Regal City! You think he’d be interested in anything in this godforsaken village? Stealing? Don’t make me laugh!”

The officers looked at Vivica, covered head to toe in mud, and frowned. “Ma’am, are you his mother? This kind of enabling is exactly the problem. When your son gets out of here, you need to teach him some real values. Tell him to stop daydreaming about being some wealthy heir and get a real job.”

Vivica was apoplectic. “He is a wealthy heir! It’s not a daydream!”

The officers exchanged glances that screamed, “That explains a lot.”

Finley felt a hot wave of shame wash over him. “Mom, stop it!” he snapped.

They had already been cast out of the Judson family and were the laughingstock of Regal City. Who in this backwater village would even recognize the Judson name?
