“I know, I know,” Larissa said, holding back a laugh. She had to admit, while she used to find such words cheesy, they sounded quite pleasant coming from Haskell.
“Alright, I’m going to sleep.”
“Okay. Sweet dreams, Larissa. Goodnight.”
“Goodnight.”
After ending the call, Haskell stopped the screen recording and lay down on his bed, replaying the video he’d just made. He recorded every one of their calls. Sometimes, in the dead of night, when his heart felt empty, he would watch them over and over until he felt whole again.
…
The next morning at Starlight Media, Larissa’s secretary, Ursa, followed her into the office, speaking urgently.
“Ms. Judson, Gale Entertainment just announced the cast for their new series, ‘Soaring High’, and it’s causing a massive stir.”
“The female lead is, unsurprisingly, the popular actress Livia, but the male lead is the award-winning actor Fulbright. He’s incredibly famous!”
“Even the supporting cast is filled with well-known actors. Plus, they’ve brought in a legendary veteran actor—Laurent.”
“With this lineup, ‘Soaring High’ is getting an incredible amount of attention.”
Larissa sat down at her desk and calmly turned on her computer. “Oh? Sounds like Gale Entertainment is spending a lot of money on early marketing.”
