“Because the one I really want your father to choose is the other one.”
“Fulbright?!” Livia was stunned.
“Exactly. You said it yourself, your father’s illegitimate son loves to oppose you. If you say you want Rigby, he will undoubtedly push for Fulbright.”
“But Fulbright is a huge star,” Livia argued. “He’s critically acclaimed and has a massive fanbase. If he’s the lead, my father’s new show is guaranteed to be at least a moderate hit.”
“That’s precisely the point,” Larissa said coolly. “Fulbright: award-winning, great reputation, squeaky clean, beloved by fans. His influence is enormous. Which means that when his scandal breaks, the fallout will be catastrophic. It will shake the entire entertainment industry to its core, and their show, ‘Soaring High’, will die along with his career.”
Livia was skeptical. “If Fulbright had any skeletons in his closet, they would have been found by now. How could something big enough to ruin him have stayed hidden for so long?”
“Because it’s been hidden well.”
Though doubtful, Livia chose to trust Larissa. “I understand.”
“But are you sure about this?” Larissa asked, her tone serious. “Are you prepared to do whatever it takes to take control of Gale Entertainment, even if it means significant losses for the company?”
