Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 386

“Don’t waste your breath, Haskell. You won’t get to me. My brother and I have always been close,” Faith said, forcing a smile to mask the anger simmering beneath the surface.

Haskell simply replied, “Oh. Is that so? Well, I suppose I’ve laid enough groundwork.”

“What?” Faith asked, confused.

Haskell‘s smile vanished completely, replaced by a chilling calm. “It’s time to tie you up.”

Before Faith could react, a silver needle shot out from the armrest of Haskell’s wheelchair, embedding itself in her neck. A sharp sting, followed by a wave of dizziness. She swayed, her body going limp as she collapsed to the ground. Her eyelids grew heavy, but she forced them open to look up at Haskell, who loomed over her.

“Haskell… you dare… kidnap me…?” she slurred. “This is our family estate… Grandpa will find out…”

Haskell‘s gaze was as placid as a frozen lake. “I forgot to tell you. The real reason Grandpa is waiting three months to announce the heir is to give me enough time to eliminate all the threats around me. Since you delivered yourself to my doorstep, you’ve saved me the trouble of sending my men after you.”

As his final words registered, Faith’s eyes widened in horror. But her strength failed her, and she succumbed to the darkness.

Haskell ran a finger over a small switch on his armrest, a look of admiration in his eyes. The modifications Larissa had made to his wheelchair were indeed very useful.

“Take her away,” he commanded.

Crispin resumed pushing the wheelchair forward.

A moment later, a bodyguard emerged from the house, bent down, and effortlessly hoisted the unconscious Faith over his shoulder. He carried her away through a side gate of the estate.

Back in his wing of the house, Haskell gave his next order. “Crispin, post men at the main gate. When Thatch returns, give him a beating severe enough to land him in the hospital. I don’t want to see him.”
