Bryant beamed with pride. The student had truly surpassed the master.
Before long, the forty bodyguards could no longer stand the torture and fled the living room in a chaotic stampede.
Realizing her plan had spectacularly failed, Vivica felt a wave of unprecedented panic wash over her. She collapsed onto the sofa behind her, her mind a whirlwind of chaotic thoughts.
It’s over. Just as Larissa had predicted, her family was truly finished.
Larissa pursed her lips and let out a sharp whistle. The swarms of insects and snakes detached from the fleeing guards, flying and slithering back into the living room to form a menacing circle around Paxton, Vivica, Finley, and Honora.
With the threat neutralized, she went to untie her new mother and father. Once freed, Neville and Sapphira untied Ziggy, Gloria, and the five brothers.
Kiernan’s voice was icy. “Paxton, you and your wife have put on quite a show. Staging a coup right in front of my eyes!”
Paxton leaned back on the sofa in defeat, letting the accusation wash over him. “We should never have brought that monster Larissa back,” he muttered to himself.
They had lost. Their family was about to lose everything because of her.
