Haskell changed the subject. “Has Torrin been bothering you these past two days?”
Larissa shook her head. “He won’t be bothering me anymore. From now on, he’ll only be bothering Avril.”
“Oh?” Haskell raised an eyebrow.
Larissa explained how Avril had taken over her text conversations with Torrin. Haskell listened and then remarked, “In that case, Avril has really solved a major headache for me.”
“Is it that serious?” Larissa said, amused.
Haskell nodded earnestly. “Yes. In my opinion, Torrin is more difficult to deal with than people like Draven or Solomon. He hasn’t actually done anything illegal, so I can’t exactly be too harsh with him.”
“So you were originally planning to do something about him?” Larissa asked.
“Of course,” Haskell admitted without hesitation. “The methods might have been a bit underhanded.”
Larissa guessed, “You were going to have someone beat him up until he got the message?”
Haskell smiled faintly. “Not that crude. A honey trap would have been more effective. Similar to what Avril is doing now, just with a different approach.”
“I see,” Larissa said, understanding. “That is a bit underhanded.”
Haskell adopted a helpless tone. “Well, what can I do? After falling for you, I’ve developed this uncontrollable possessiveness.”
Larissa knew he was teasing her and played along. “Now that you mention it, I can relate. After all… I feel the same possessiveness toward you.”
Haskell’s eyes twinkled with amusement. “To be possessed by you, Larissa, would be my greatest honor.”
As they bantered, Larissa found herself captivated by his handsome face. Her gaze drifted from his strong brows down to his soft, red lips. In the privacy of his office, with just the two of them, an impulse she could no longer ignore took over.
“I want to try something today.”
