Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 313

“Two million.”

The woman’s eyes flew open, staring in shock at Larissa’s suite. She couldn’t believe it—the heiress had jumped straight to two million.

Garrick was furious. His annual expenses were strictly managed, capped at five million, with a maximum of two million allocated for women. This was just a stupid pendant! The designer might be famous, but the materials weren’t that valuable. A million was already far above its worth as the opening item. And now Larissa had offered two million. Was she insane?

The auctioneer banged his gavel again.

“Two million, going once!”

“Two million, going twice!”

Garrick gritted his teeth. He could lose to anyone, but not to Larissa, not after she had just publicly challenged him.

“Two million one hundred thousand!” he snapped, breaking his own rule.

A moment later, Larissa’s crisp voice came through the sound system again.

“Two million five hundred thousand.”

After placing her bid, she added a taunt, “Garrick, don’t bother competing with those pitifully small increments. It’s embarrassing.”

“Shut up! I have plenty of money!” Garrick retorted, his face red with anger. “Two million eight hundred thousand!”

Larissa immediately countered, “Three million!”

Garrick hesitated, glancing at the beautiful face of the woman beside him.

“Three million five hundred thousand!” he shouted, feeling his heart ache with every word. That kind of money could have bought him three other women in the past.

The woman’s initial hope turned back to dread. She hadn’t expected Garrick’s pride to push the price so high. Would the heiress continue to bid against him? Or had she achieved her goal of making him overspend and was now ready to back down?
