Finley let out a huge sigh of relief. “Honora, thank you so much. If I can secure the rights to this last novel, I’ll owe you big time.”
An unmistakable look of pride crossed Honora’s face. “Finley, I’m your sister. I’m happy I could help. You don’t owe me anything.”
Leopold puffed out his chest. “Don’t worry, Finley. With Honora on the case, her friend will definitely convince Field of Lari. I bet you’ll walk out of that meeting with the rights to the novel in your hands!”
He shot a sideways glance at Larissa, who was still standing in the doorway. “With an IP like this, Starlight Media is going to soar. I’d love to see how someone with such a big mouth plans to ruin our careers then.”
Larissa let out a short, sharp laugh. “My, aren’t we confident? You get one meeting and you’re already sure Field of Lari will sell the rights to you?”
“You underestimate Honora’s connections,” Leopold sneered. “She’s not like you. She knows influential people. The fact that they agreed to a meeting means it’s practically a done deal.” He smirked. “I don’t know where you get the audacity to claim you can destroy us. What are you going to do? Do you know Field of Lari? Can you stop her from selling the rights to Finley?”
Larissa nodded thoughtfully. “Actually, yes. I do know her. And I can definitely make sure she doesn’t sell the rights to Finley.”
Leopold burst out laughing. “You? Know Field of Lari? That’s like me saying I know the King. You’ll say anything, won’t you?”
Larissa just shrugged. “Believe what you want.”
