Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 139

The air in the room crackled with tension.

Valeria’s temper flared. “What’s that supposed to mean, Miss Judson? Don’t be so condescending!”

“Getting defensive, are we?” Larissa taunted. “As the adopted daughter of the Palmer family, Haskell treated you incredibly well, didn’t he? But what did you do after he saved you, after he was crippled for you? People who don’t know their place, who are consumed by greed, always end up destroying themselves.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about!” Valeria snapped.

Haskell, however, changed the subject smoothly. “Larissa, do you like this place?”

Larissa tore her gaze from Valeria and surveyed the villa, nodding in approval.

“The location is excellent, and the interior is beautifully done. What, are you planning to make this our marital home?”

He shook his head with a smile. “It’s a bit too modest for that. But if you like it, consider it part of your dowry.”

Valeria shot to her feet. “Bro! Draven arranged for me to live here! If you give this house to Miss Judson, where will I go? Unless… are you here to take me back home?”

Haskell glanced at her, his smile turning to a sneer. “Valeria, did you really think Draven could afford a property like this in Regal City? This house is mine. I threw you out of the family, and yet he had the audacity to place you in one of my properties.”

Valeria’s eyes widened, her lips trembling. This house wasn’t her brother’s?

“Well, if Haskell is being so generous, I won’t be polite,” Larissa said, settling the matter.
