Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 134

Larissa smiled. “You certainly keep up with the news, Mr. Lawson.”

“Oh, please. Everyone in Regal City’s high society is talking about it.” He then lowered his voice. “Speaking of which, Finley Judson called me the other day. He was asking if I knew any master physicians who specialize in detoxification. I told him I did, in fact, know one… you.”

Larissa raised an eyebrow. “Oh?”

How amusing. Finley was desperately searching for a cure, and his search had led him right back to her. She could only imagine his despair when he finally learned the truth.

“I told him I would notify him the next time you visited,” Mr. Lawson continued, carefully watching her expression. “But I’ve also heard that you and your… family… are not on the best of terms. So…”

He let the sentence hang, making it clear that Finley’s fate was in her hands.

“Mr. Lawson,” Larissa said with a sly smile, “why do you think I poisoned him in the first place?”

He understood immediately.

“Of course,” he replied with a respectful bow of his head. “I will not mention your identity to Mr. Finley.”

After seeing Larissa out, Mr. Lawson shook his head. Paxton’s family had truly fumbled. If they had just embraced their daughter, her skills and connections could have secured their position not just within the Judson family, but throughout all of Regal City. Instead, they had rejected her, handed her over to Neville’s family on a silver platter, and made a powerful enemy in the process. They were about to lose on all fronts.

Not long after Larissa left, Finley called.

Mr. Lawson chuckled to himself. Speak of the devil.
