Irresistible Boss Succumbing to Your Touch (Maria Anita) novel Chapter 3

Flavian’s POV

I took a deep breath and tried to put my thoughts in order once again. I looked around the room.

"PH, do you know the girl who talked to that man?" That was the first thing I wanted to know.

"Yes, she's new, one semester behind Manu, transferred from another college. Her name is Karen, room 313," PH informed.

"Dean, I want to talk to this girl right now, and I also want to talk to your security guard at the entrance, because I had to show ID when I arrived, but for the man who took my girlfriend, he turned a blind eye." I was not in the mood for games, and the Dean noticed.

"Your girlfriend, detective?" He swallowed hard.

"Yes, my girlfriend. And if anything happens to her, you and this college will be in serious trouble, and I don't need to tell you that your security guard risks leaving here in handcuffs today, do I? So that worthless security guard better tell me everything I want to know." The Dean sent for the security guard and the student and took us to his office.

"You'll be more comfortable here, sir." The Dean said as we reached his office, and I looked at him irritated.

"I don't care about comfort." I said and walked toward him. "I want answers and I want them fast." The man shrank against the wall.

"Dean, you called for me?" The girl from the video entered the room, and I turned to observe her.

The girl flashed a flirtatious smile at me and sat down. The Dean made the introductions, and she extended her hand to greet me, still wearing that smile. I looked at her without showing any reaction and crossed my arms, leaving her hand hanging.

"How can I help you, detective?" She asked and crossed her legs, making her already short skirt ride up more than necessary. Did she really think she could seduce me? Well, she was mistaken!

"Miss, I want to know who the man was that talked to you during break, what he wanted, and what he gave you." I asked, staring at that girl.

"What man?" She had the nerve to try to play dumb.

"Don't even try! It's on the security video. Start talking if you don't want to be arrested for conspiracy and kidnapping." I threatened.

"Arrested? What's this? Dean!" She looked at the Dean as if asking for help.

"Karen, this is an extremely serious situation! With the security video, the detective can indeed arrest you. I think you better start talking and tell everything." The Dean advised her, and I just raised an eyebrow.

"And don't even try to lie to me." I warned.

The girl finally stopped smiling and seemed somewhat nervous.

"Look, I don't know anything," she said nervously. "That man just asked me to call Manuela, that's all. He gave me a hundred-dollar bill just to do that, and if she asked who it was, I was supposed to say it was Flavian. I don't even know who Flavian is, and Manuela is weird - she hardly ever leaves the classroom, and when she does, it's only with Peter Hank. The man told me to get her out before Peter came back."

"Let me tell you something," I placed my hands on the table and leaned forward, "I am Flavian, her boyfriend." The girl's eyes widened. "And she's not weird, she's just not naive like you. Now tell me exactly what you said to her, word for word."

"I just said there was a man outside the classroom asking for her, said he was a big guy with a stern face," the girl replied.

"Flavian, Manu must have thought it was you - big and stern-faced," Lexie spoke from the corner of the room, and I agreed with that possibility.

"And you thought it was normal for someone like that to look for a student here?" I looked straight into the girl's eyes. My voice was firm and filled with anger.

"Look, detective, I thought the man was very strange. He definitely wasn't a student, or a teacher, or even any other staff member at the college. He was kind of scary," Karen said without meeting my gaze.

"And you didn't think to warn Manu about that? You didn't think to call security?" I raised my voice, and the girl shrank back.

"The guy gave me a hundred bucks just to call the girl. I couldn't imagine what he was going to do," Karen tried to justify herself.

"Oh, I have a reason alright. You facilitated the kidnapping of a student. At the very least, I'm going to arrest you for criminal conspiracy and participation in a kidnapping. Now, if that guy and whoever else is with him does anything to her, if he so much as touches a hair on her head, I'll charge you as an accomplice in every crime he commits. Am I clear?" I stared him down. "Oh, and before you try to play smart, the security footage and the record of your badge clearing the turnstile for that man's entry and exit are solid evidence of your participation in any crimes he's committing. And let me tell you something else, I will move heaven and earth to let you rot in jail, I'm highly motivated because the girl he took is my girlfriend!"

"Shit! I'm screwed!" The security guard rubbed his face with his hands.

"Yeah, you're totally screwed!" I glared at him.

"Detective, I'll talk, but do you swear you won't involve me in this?" The security guard asked hesitantly.

"This isn't a negotiation! You're going to talk, period. I'll decide your involvement in this." I lost my patience; the guy wanted to bargain.

"The guy gave me money to let him in and out without asking questions and without telling anyone. That's all." He spoke quickly, and my blood boiled even more.

"How much did he give you? How much is a young woman's life worth to you?" I stared him down.

"I didn't know what he was going to do." I glared at him and he huffed. "Two hundred."

"You piece of shit!" I was about to break that creep's face.

"Easy, Flavian." Lexie spoke from the corner of the room, and I stopped.

"You're going to write down all your information correctly for me, and you're not leaving the city, because if you try to run, I'll find you, even if I have to go to hell to do it." I spoke through gritted teeth. "What are you going to do with him, Dean?"

"He will be fired for cause immediately." The Dean said, and the man, who was already writing down his information, looked at him almost crying.

"I'll come back if needed, Dean." I grabbed the papers with the security guard's information and the student's data, along with a copy of the security footage, and left. It was time to round up my officers.
