Flavian’s POV

The week was coming to an end, and I still hadn't heard from Cam. I was getting restless. Breno had told me he would visit this Gisele the following week, and I was more than anxious for news.

"Cam!" I answered the phone as soon as the screen lit up. "I was just wondering when you'd get in touch."

"Flavian, this week has been crazy. And in the middle of everything, I had to break up a fight," Cam laughed.

"A fight?" I thought I had misheard.

"Ah, I'll send you the video. My security cameras recorded everything. I don't know if Manu will like it, but you'll love it. I should have been really angry, but it was actually funny," Cam laughed. "But I need a favor."

"What would that be?" I asked, still curious about the fight.

"Olivia is on her way. She'll look for you at the police station to deliver the boxes with what we found in the deceased maid's storage unit, and she has the DNA sample. Can you accompany her to the lab?" Cam asked, and I was surprised.

"Of course! She did say she would get the sample. How did she manage that?" I couldn't imagine what she had to do.

"My friend, the earth shook as I predicted. Watch the video," Cam laughed again, giving me a hint about who had fought. "I think you'll need a doctor's order for the test. Can you get that there?"

"Yes, I can. And was there anything useful in the storage unit?" I was curious.

"Man, we went there yesterday afternoon, but I couldn't look through it. We left it to check at home, but my father is staying with us, and yesterday he was hovering around the whole time, almost as if he suspected something. Today Oli didn't want to waste time, loaded everything into her car early and hit the road," Cam explained.

"Man, I'm curious," I said, and he agreed. We arranged that I would call later to tell him what was in the boxes from the storage unit. We said goodbye, and I had to wait for Olivia to arrive, so I went back to my reports.

I lost track of time. I heard a knock on the door and said to come in.

"Hey handsome, I found this beautiful young lady looking for you," Bonfim entered my office with Olivia.

"Detective Bonfim, you're such a gentleman," Olivia smiled at him.

"This beautiful young lady is my sister-in-law, Bonfim, married to Manu's brother," I explained.

"Ah, she already told me, and she was kind enough to take a picture with my daughters," Bonfim smiled.

"The girls were here?" I asked.

"That's fine," Olivia agreed, and the test procedures were carried out. We said goodbye to the director and left the laboratory.

"Flavian, could you take me somewhere else? I brought a present for Melissa, and I'd like to give it to her," Olivia explained.

"Of course, that crazy girl will love it. Let's pick up the little one and have lunch with her, what do you think?"

"Sounds great, I can say I came to see about some work and we met kind of by chance," Olivia thought quickly.

We went to Manu's workplace, and when we arrived, she wasn't at her desk.

"Ah, so you already know," Alexander said, coming out of his office while scratching his head.

"Know what?" I looked at him alarmed. "Where's Manu?"

"She's in the break room. Come!" Alexander quickly greeted Olivia, and we headed to the break room.

I was devastated by what I saw. Manu was sobbing uncontrollably, her arms scratched and her hair disheveled. Her clothes were somewhat dirty. I didn't understand what had happened, but I was going to kill whoever did this to her.
