Irresistible Boss Succumbing to Your Touch (Maria Anita) novel Chapter 3

Cam’s POV

As we approached our house, I saw a few people gathered around, my father standing outside the gate, and Rita making a scene. I looked at it with disgust. Beside me, Olivia clapped her hands and bounced in her seat.

"But it's today!" Olivia said cheerfully, rolling up and pinning her long hair in a bun. I looked at her, puzzled.

"What's today, Oli?" I asked, but she was already getting out of the car determinedly, so I had no choice but to do the same.

"Come on, Orlando, tell me, who's the hussy you're involved with? To ask for divorce in such a hurry, you must be head over heels for another woman!" Rita was screaming and crying, putting on a show of a betrayed wife. She was loving having an audience, who was playing the role of the offended wife in front of the whole town.

"Rita, please, stop this!" My father seemed furious.

"I wanted to talk to you, Orlando, in the privacy of our home, but you left while I was visiting our daughter. You snuck out like you were running away and came to hide here at Cam's house, who always wanted to destroy our family. He's certainly covering up your infidelity," Rita was crossing the line, yelling with a small audience to applaud her show.

"Rita, you don't need help destroying your family, you're doing just fine on your own!" Olivia had barely gotten out of the car when she started speaking as loudly as Rita.

"Shut your mouth, you tramp. You left home as a girl and went into the world with this modeling story, but you really went astray, got lost, then came back and married this idiot here. You're a terrible influence, I bet you're the one who filled Manuela's head with ideas." Rita always insulted Olivia, but she never cared, or at least I thought she didn't.

"Oh, you devil, you don't talk to me like that!" I don't know what got into Olivia, but she went after Rita and grabbed her by the hair, yanking it as if she were shaking out a mop.

"Owww... help me, someone get this hussy off me!" Rita screamed, trying to break free while Olivia held onto her hair, shaking it from side to side.

I approached and pulled Olivia by the waist. She wouldn't let go and kept shaking Rita's head frantically from side to side. I pulled harder and stepped back, and Olivia dragged Rita along.

"My God, Oli, let go of this woman before you rip her head off," I complained, and my wife gave one final powerful yank before finally releasing Rita.

Olivia released Rita, but her hands were full of hair she had pulled from the other woman's head. She raised her clenched fists, looking at her own hands with a smile. Rita looked at that and became like a raging bull, completely disheveled with messy clothes. She lunged at Olivia, and I only had time to put my wife behind me to protect her. Rita came at us with full force, and I held her by the wrists.

"You're going to leave right now, and when you see my wife on the street, you're better cross to the other side," I said in a low, controlled voice.

"DNA!" Olivia whispered, looking at me and showing me the hair. Only then did I understand that she wanted Rita's hair to have the new DNA test done.

My father didn't hear us; he was looking off into the distance without understanding what had happened, dismissing the few spectators of that horror show. I sent Olivia inside and pulled the car into the garage. My father stood by the door waiting for me; I thought it better to leave the boxes in the trunk and look at them later.

"What happened with Olivia?" My father asked as I approached. "She never pays attention to Rita's nonsense, but today she was like a wild animal."

"Ah, Dad, I don't even know. I think she's tired of all Rita's nastiness toward Manu and got upset seeing Rita here making this scene. Or maybe it's just PMS," I answered, trying to sound convincing, but I wanted to laugh because the scene was chaotic but funny.

"Yeah, it was quite a scene," my father responded and scratched his head. "I'll apologize to Oli later."

"Dad, it's not your fault," I put my hand on his shoulder, and we went inside.

Olivia came down the stairs smiling, not looking like someone who had just confronted the she-devil, as she called her, and pulled out a generous handful of her hair.
