Manuela’s POV
Of course I believed Flavian, and I knew well that Sabrina would try many tricks to seduce him, but I was prepared for her traps. For each one she set up, I would show her that messing with me or my boyfriend wasn't a good option. I wasn't the same naive and silly Manu I was when I first arrived here.
"Manu, you believed him, right?" Lexie asked worriedly.
"Of course I did, Lexie. I trust your brother, and the desperate look on his face made it clear he was telling the truth," I replied.
"Poor guy, Manu, and you let him leave without knowing that?" Rick reproached me.
"Well, I'm going to teach him a thing or two today, so he'll be smarter about that little snake's schemes," I answered with a smile.
"Oh great, looks like I won't be sleeping tonight," Lexie joked.
"Come over to my place, I've told you before, there's a spare room. We can have dinner together, and chat. It'll be good for me to have company," Rick invited her. He had been so lonely since Tess left him.
"Oh, I'll definitely come," Lexie responded. "We'll drop Manu off at home, I'll grab some things, and spend the night at your place. Are you sure I won't be a bother?"
"Depends, do you snore like a wood chipper?" Rick joked, and Lexie gave him a playful punch on the arm while he laughed. "Of course you won't be a bother, you'll actually be doing me a favor by spending time with me."
"Great, but before going home, I want to stop by the Savannah Hotel," I said with gleaming eyes. "I'm going to say hello to my friend Sabrina before she gets the brilliant idea to come after me."
"Then let's go, I'm eager to see this," Rick called out, and we left.
It didn't take long before we were standing in the hotel lobby. With charm and smooth talking, Rick managed to get Sabrina's room number from the receptionist, so we headed there. I knocked on the door and heard that shameless woman yell from inside, asking who it was.
"Delivery for Sabrina," Rick answered, and soon after, the door opened.
Sabrina stood in the doorway with her arms crossed and smiled when she saw us there.
"Little miss, I was actually going to visit you at that college. You know, I'm starting to like it there. I'm even thinking about going back to school - we could be classmates." Sabrina was being sarcastic, but I was getting used to it.
"Oh, studying is very important. It helps broaden our horizons. I think it would be great for you to go back to school and learn to do more than just chase men. Expand that pea-sized brain of yours." I replied with a smile. If she was going to be sarcastic, I could be cynical.
"Oh, sweetie, men chase after me. Look at Flavian, he came running as soon as I called," she taunted.
"Look, I just came here to give you some friendly advice, okay? Flavian won't come back to you. And if you keep testing my patience, you might leave this situation with or without clothes, but definitely with two black eyes." I turned my back and walked toward the door, but before leaving, I turned and gave her a little wave with my best smile. "Bye, auntie!"
"You pocket-sized brat, I'm not your damn auntie! I'll show you what happens when you mess with me!" Sabrina stood screaming at the bedroom door like an unhinged lunatic.
We got into the elevator, and Lexie and Rick burst out laughing.
"Auntie, Manu?" Rick asked.
"You hit Sabrina's weak spot. She lies about her age, you know?" Lexie commented, and I started laughing.
"I noticed when she was at my place that age is a sensitive issue for her. Guys, how did Flavian end up married to someone this shallow?" I looked at Lexie.
"Oh, Little Key, we men make so many bad choices when we're young," Rick lamented.
"I'm not sure you guys improve much with age, Rick," Lexie teased.
I felt much lighter after showing Sabrina that I wasn't afraid of her. We arrived at the apartment, and Flavian wasn't in the living room - he was probably in the bedroom waiting for me. Lexie quickly grabbed her things and said goodbye. She would have a pleasant night with Rick, and I would teach my big guy a lesson.
