Irresistible Boss Succumbing to Your Touch (Maria Anita) novel Chapter 3

Flavian’s POV

I arrived at the girls' workplace as fast as I could. My little one was surprised to see me there so early.

"Detective, there's still more than an hour before my shift starts here." She stood up and hugged me but quickly stepped back.

"I know this perfume, Flavian, and it's not yours." The little one looked at me, seemingly upset.

"Yes, you know it, that's why I'm here so early." I was already worried before, but now seeing Manu's face, I was starting to panic. "I was with Sabrina. But please, listen to me."

"Of course I'll listen to you. But I want to know exactly why her perfume is all over you." The little one said as she sat in her chair, staring at me.

"Well..." I was about to start explaining when Patrick came out of his office looking distracted. "Don't you greet your friends anymore, Patrick?"

"Oh, hi, Flavian. Sorry, I've been very distracted lately." Patrick extended his hand to me.

"Yeah, I heard. Anything I can help with?" I knew he was like this because he was having problems with his girlfriend.

"Not for now. I need to go, we'll talk later." He said goodbye and went to the elevator. As soon as the door closed, I looked at my little one.

"He still doesn't remember Lexie?" I asked, finding it strange that he hadn't recognized my sister.

"Not yet. Now sit down and start talking." The little one wasn't in the mood for small talk.

"Little one, Sabrina called me saying she needed me. I didn't want to listen and hung up the phone, then she sent me this photo." I showed her the photo of Sabrina sitting on the window ledge.

"And then Detective Moreno went there to play hero?" The little one was getting angry.

"What did you want me to do?" My question was meant for her to understand there was no other choice.

"Call the hotel, call the firefighters, send a police car, but you didn't need to go there personally." Manu looked at me defiantly.

Yes, I could have done any of the things she suggested, which would probably have been more sensible, but at that moment I could only think about the first time Sabrina did this when we were still dating.

"Whew, the atmosphere is pretty tense today, huh?" Rick appeared at his office door.

"It sure is, Rick. And look at my brother's guilty face. What did you do now, little brother?" I did not need Lexie trying to figure out what I had done.

"If I were you two, I would be more worried about the day Patrick finds out you are hiding your identity from him, dear sister. He is going to be pissed!" I responded to get those two off my back.

"By that day I will be unemployed, but until then I am going to enjoy my job." Lexie replied and sat down. "Come on, Rick, let's hear what my brother did."

"He went to see his ex!" Manu said humorlessly, staring directly at me. Rick leaned on the desk with his hand over his mouth, and Lexie sniffed the perfume on my clothes.

"You left that woman naked and tied up on the bed?" Rick laughed. "That woman has no dignity whatsoever."

"Flavian, you're going to leave now and go home," Manu finally spoke, but only to send me away.

"Manu..." I was ready to grovel for her.

"Listen!" She raised her hand to silence me. "I listened to you, now you listen to me. You're going home, you're going to take off those clothes and throw them in the trash because that perfume won't come out. Then you're going to take a shower and remove any trace of that tramp from your body. And you're going to wait for me there, quietly. Understood?"

"Manu, please don't be upset with me." I was worried; she didn't seem happy and would certainly be upset with me, or worse.

"Understood, Flavian?" She insisted.

"Understood." I understood she would talk to me in the privacy of our home. "But you don't have a car, I can come back to pick..."

"No need, Flavian, I'll take the girls," Rick responded seriously. "Go, do what Manu asked and wait at home so you can talk."

"Alright, I'll wait for you at home, little one." I tried to approach her, but she backed away.

"Don't touch me while you smell like her perfume." Manu complained and pointed to the elevator.

I felt like a boy being sent to punishment, but I did exactly what my little one asked, left the office and went home to throw away the clothes and take a long shower to remove any trace of Sabrina from me.
