Baron glanced back with a cold, contemptuous smile. There were eight killers following him. As he expected, they were sent by the McGill family.
Baron’s face did not change and kept chatting with Tracy, with the same old composure. He didn’t want to scare them, for Tracy and Lara were the two most important people in his life.
And Jacob and Samba were nearby, so Baron was not worried at all. Sure enough, Jacob and Samba appeared! They passed Baron quickly and walked toward the eight killers.
Jacob knocked right into one of them deliberately and roared, “You bastard! You walked right into me!”
That killer looked at Jacob coldly and shouted, “Fuck off!”
Just then, Jacob raised his fist and knocked him down in one punch.
At the same time, Samba joined the fight. He was a great boxer, so beating the killers was a piece of cake. He brandished his massive fist rapidly and knocked all of them off his feet.
The killers lay on the ground, bleeding profusely. Jacob stepped up to them and put his foot on one killer’s chest. “Who are you and why did you follow Mr. Owen?”
The killer stared at him. “You are working for Baron, aren’t you?” he managed to say in a choking voice.
Jacob made no reply to the question. Beyond any expectations, he took out a dagger. One quick slash opened the killer’s throat, a wash of blood spurting freely.
And then Jacob walked towards another killer and stared fiercely at him. He held the dagger, blood dripping from it. “Who are you and why did you follow Mr. Owen?” he asked again.
“Don’t kill me. Please! I am from the McGill family. Rory sent us here to kidnap Mr. Owen and take him to the Davis Manor,” the killer said and his voice was shaking.
“Why?” Jacob asked coldly. Baron was the most important person in Pola. Anyone who tried to hurt him would not be spared.
“Rory is very angry because Mr. Owen killed his apprentice. So, he tries to get revenge,” the killer said quickly.
After hearing this, Jacob squinted at him, a cool gleam in his eyes. “Jackass! He’s a dead man,” he said and left with Samba.
When Baron arrived the Peak Hotel with his wife and daughter, he got a text message from Jacob, “It’s Rory. He wanted to avenge his apprentice’s death. Do you want me to kill him?”
Jensen suddenly jumped to his feet. He looked at Elias with flaming eyes. “It was my son who was killed! As a father, I shall revenge for his death! And I know what you’re thinking. You are scared of Rory and Baron, right? You coward!”
“Enough of this nonsense!” Elias stood up too and looked at Jensen. “Bill was my nephew. I am quite sorry he was dead. I want to revenge for his death just like you!”
“Shut up, both of you!” Ollie slammed his hand down on the table. “I know how hard it is, Jensen! Bill’s death hit you quite hard. Don’t worry. Rory has sent eight killers to catch Baron. Rory won’t fail this time, I believe him. Because his apprentice was killed by Baron too. There is no way he will let the jerk get away with that.”
“That’s all right. It’s sad that Bill died, but I’ll get Baron back for this. And from now on, you’ll be in charge of Remi Pharmaceuticals,” Ollie said soothingly.
Jensen smiled when he heard that. Remi Pharmaceuticals was one of the most important businesses of the Davis family. It also meant that Jensen was likely to be the heir to the family.
Just then, there was a loud bang from outside.
Ollie was shocked. He leapt to his feet and asked, “What just happened?”
