Invincible Heir novel Chapter 175

Camel, who’d been busy with work, didn’t have time to spare on Sion, but after hearing his words, his face changed.

He knew that Terry was Baron’s father-in-law.

He also knew that Baron was twenty-seven.

As for this nonsense about impersonating the chairman and getting looked after by Terry—

What impersonation? This must be Baron himself!

Sion’s tone made it obvious that he’d offended Baron. Camel’s back was soaked through with cold sweat. He’d kept Sion in the company himself.

Seeing that Camel wasn’t replying, Sion chuckled, “So, Mr. Ellis, do you need me to kick them both out of the company?”

“Kick your own fucking ass! The young man you’re talking about is actually the chairman! Do whatever he tells you to do. If you dare offend him, I’ll see you dead!”

Camel bellowed furiously. His voice could clearly be heard through the mouthpiece in the quiet office.

The flattering smile on Sion’s face froze solid. The five department heads who’d followed Sion out as well started showing “brilliant” expressions.

“From now on, whoever won’t follow your orders, just fire him!”

Baron scanned the people there emotionlessly, then turned to Terry and added, “If you don’t have enough manpower, ask Camel for help!”

“Yes, Mr. Chairman!”

This was the office, after all. Terry was respectful to Baron here.

“I know I’ve done wrong, Mr. Chairman, please give me another chance!”

After a short lull, Sion panicked and started to plead for mercy, his expression ugly.

He’d just gotten a new mansion and car a while ago, but on a loan. If he was fired, he couldn’t pay that back at all.

“We’re sorry, Mr. Chairman!”

The other five department heads also started begging.

Baron laughed coldly. “Why didn’t you think of this when you tried to go against Mr. Perry?”

“You can’t fire me, Mr. Chairman, I’m the most experienced manager in the company, and I’ve been the general manager before. A lot of projects are earned by me. They’ll sink without me here.”

Sensing Baron’s determination in firing him, Sion’s panic intensified.

“This is a big company. You really think it can’t go on without you? Do you think the world will stop spinning without you too?” Baron mocked.

The five department heads who’d followed him before also chimed in, “It’s all Sion’s fault, Mr. Chairman, he forced us to go along. He’ll make life hell for us if we don’t stand on his side. Please, Mr. Chairman, give us one last chance! We won’t do it again!”

Looking at a bunch of grown men about to cry, Terry felt a surge of pity.

“How about if we just fire Sion and keep the rest of them, Mr. Chairman?”

Terry murmured.

The staff members looked gratefully at him.

“Business is war. Obedience is your natural duty. Betrayal makes you an enemy.”

Disappointingly, Baron shook his head and looked seriously at Terry. “If they can betray you once for their personal gain, they can betray you a second time. Any one of those betrayals can spell the end for the company!”

At this moment, Baron emanated pure authority. Even as his father-in-law, Terry felt incomparable pressure.

But Terry also knew very well that Baron’s words made sense. The people who’d done what they wanted just because they had Sion there and opposed him on every point really didn’t deserve to be forgiven.

Terry chuckled bitterly and gave Baron a cup of water, then sat down and said, “I’d wanted to resolve this on my own as a way to better myself. I didn’t think they’d get more and more out of hand, to the point where they’d go against me and disregard the company’s interests.”

“I gave you the company, Dad, and that means that I trust you. Don’t put yourself through this. If anything like this happens again, deal with it heavy-handedly. If you can’t, I’ll clear it up.”

Baron said seriously.

“All right, I’ve got it!”

Terry laughed.

“This is my first time at River Construction Materials. I know nothing about the company’s situation. Weren’t you about to have a meeting? That’s great. I’ll follow along and have a listen at the side, and get to know the company while I’m at it,” Baron said suddenly.

Just as Baron was following Terry to the meeting.

The six department heads with Sion in the lead were about to part when Sion suddenly called, “Wait!”

The other five stopped and glared angrily at Sion.

If it hadn’t been for him, they wouldn’t have been fired in the first place.

“I know what you think of me, but don’t forget. How much did I do for you when I was still assistant general manager? You got fired, but I got fired too!”

Sion said resentfully.

“What are you trying to say?”

A middle-aged man walked out and looked at him coldly.

A chilling gleam flashed through Sion’s eyes. “I’ve got a plan, but I need your cooperation for it. If we can get that done, Terry is going to beg us to come back!”
