Invincible Heir novel Chapter 148

This was the first time Baron had talked like this to Sherry. He really was angry.

In their room, Tracy wiped off her tears, looked at Baron and said, “I’m sorry!”

Baron shook his head, went over to Lara and picked her up, turning to Tracy, “You’re my wife. You never need to say those words to me.”

Tracy’s heart warmed. Thinking of everything Baron had done for her, she was too moved to hold back her tears. She turned around and went into the washroom.

Baron sighed lightly. With a mother like Sherry, she and Yuri had it hard.

“Daddy, Mommy’s crying. Cheer her up so she won’t cry anymore!”

Lara’s eyes twinkled in Baron’s embrace.

Baron squeezed her cheeks, smiling gently. “How do you think Daddy should comfort Mommy, then?”

Lara replied, “You need to call Mommy honey. Say that she loves Lara. And you want to spend your whole life with Mommy and Lara.”

Baron chuckled. “I thought you wanted me to cheer Mommy up. Why do I have to pamper you too?”

“Because if Mommy’s not happy, Lara’s not happy too. If you cheer her up, I’ll be happy too!” Lara’s eyes were bright and gleaming.

Tracy walked out, having washed her face. Her tears had stopped, but her eyes were still red.

“Honey!”

Baron said.

He’d always called Tracy by her name, so this sudden change to “honey” took her aback.

Baron cleared his throat, a soft smile on his face as he looked at her. “I love you, honey. I love Lara too. I’ll be with the two of you my whole life!”

Tracy, who’d still been looking down, blushed and glared at Baron, actually getting shy. “What are you doing! Saying sappy stuff like that – Lara’s still here!”

Lara giggled out loud, puffed up with pride. “Good work, Daddy, just like that. See, Mommy’s not crying anymore!”

Looking at how full of herself Lara was, Baron was left bemused.

Tracy recovered herself, realizing that Baron had said all of those lines because Lara had told him to.

“Come here, Mommy!”

Lara waved at Tracy.

Tracy approached Baron embarrassedly, sitting about half a meter from him.

“Closer, Mommy!”

Lara complained.

“You silly girl, what are you trying to pull?”

Tracy laughed, but did as Lara said and sat closer.

“Even closer, Mommy!”

With that, Lara took Baron and Tracy’s hands and put them together.

“You need to hold Mommy’s hand more, Daddy. That way Mommy can be happy!”

Lara stood in front of the couple, hands on her hips as she looked at the pair’s hands holding together and nodded in satisfaction.

Baron and Tracy were both bemused now.

Tracy didn’t struggle, either, and only looked a bit shy. But with Lara there, her original sorrow was nowhere to be found.

There came a knocking on the door.

Terry beamed. “Really, this place is great, but I can’t be comfortable here. Life is short. If you want to live well, you need to live free!”

Baron shook his head bitterly. He didn’t think that living here would actually make Terry uncomfortable. But he could understand.

After all, not everyone liked living in a mansion. Especially for Terry, who’d opened his eyes fully. His job belonged to Baron now. Even the place he lived belonged to Baron.

Not to mention he felt he owed Baron something. Living here wasn’t comfortable at all.

“If you’ve made your decision, Dad, I won’t stop you. But you have to treat yourself well out there. Anything you need, just ask.” Baron did not insist.

“Don’t worry. Besides, your old man’s a general manager now. I get paid pretty well. I’ll rent the house for a bit, and when I get some money, I’ll pay a mortgage for a new house.”

Terry chuckled, pride and contentment on his face.

“Dad, I’ve got some savings…”

Before Tracy could finish, Terry cut her off. “Save it for when I’m old and can’t work anymore.

“Right, I just came to talk to you about this. I’m going back to my room.”

With that, Terry left.

Soon, the sound of Sherry throwing a tantrum came from outside. Terry had evidently told her about the move.

Tracy sighed, then said, “If Mom could come to her senses like Dad one day, that would be so nice!”

Baron didn’t say anything. He knew full well what kind of person Sherry was. How would she willingly move out now that she had a mansion to live in?

Terry might have to leave on his own in the end.

“Bad news, sis, Mom’s in a fight with Dad!”

At that moment, Yuri rushed in, panicking, wearing only a sleeping gown.
