The barat ceremony was going perfectly but hana was not present. She was late because of her university as there was an unexpected viva for the students. Hana got to the marriage hall when it was the time for food. The brother of bride also got there at the same time because hana and zeeniya’s both were in the same class and both had to stay for viva. Ahmed was the name of Bride’s brother.
Hana hurriedly went to the washroom and changed her abaya with fancy clothes that her mother brought along with her after hana informed her about her viva. Hana applied a little bit of make-up and joined everyone at the stage. Hana also ate with all the others and after that the Dudh Pilai started. Bride had a brother only. So, ahmed demanded lots of money from Zamid but all the cousins started to protest.
“Hana meray sath hai! Oye, hana! Apnay bhai ki jagah tum meray sath ho jao! (Hana is in my team! Hey hana! Leave them and join with me!) We’ll divide the money! What say?” Ahmed asked hana.
“Okay done!” Hana said with a beautiful smile. Her cousins and Zayn started to protest and gave her death glares for changing the party.
“Tmhay to politics main hona chahiye tha Hana! Esay party badalti ho jesay sawab ka kaam ho! (You should be in politics, hana! You change parties as if it is a good deed!)” Daniyal taunted hana and all the others agreed with him.
“Bai main to hamesha say hi us party main hoon jaha Money Bhai hain! Money Bhai ki party hi meri party hai hamesha say! (I have always been in the team where Money bro is! Money Bro’s party is always been my party!)” Hana cheekily replied.
“Barhi hi nadeedi aurat ho tm! (Such a gluttonous woman you are!)” Zayn said to hana with fake anger as it was amusing for all of them but they were covering their smiles with fake anger so that hana can come back to the Dulha’s side.
“Aurat ho gay ap sab! Main to aurat nhi hn! (You all are women! Not me!)” Hana angrily pouted and said to all of her cousins. At this, all of them laughed.
“Acha bae ap sab apni larhai ghar ja kr kijiye ga pr mjhay Dudh Pilai k pesay day dain pehlay ta’k main to jao yaha say! Ye na ho k Zeeniya phir say ghar janay ka faisla kr lay! Is liye jaldi jaldi isay yaha say lay jain pr pehlay pesay! (Hey stop it you guys with your fighting! Do it at your home and please give me my money so that I can go from here! And please take Zeeniya from here before she changes her mund and decides to go back to our home! But first, money!)” Ahmed jokingly said to which he got glared by his parents and Zeeniya. All the others laughed at this.
After a lot of bargaining and arguing, they settled on 70,000 as dudh pilai and Zamid gave the check of 70,000 to Ahmed. Hana and ahmed hooted as they got a lot of money and then they started to bicker among themselves because Ahmed said that hana only helped a little so only one thousand will be given to her. Hana fought tooth and nail and finally got her 50%.
The Rukhsati was a really sad thing because Zeeniya was leaving her house but it was a happy moment too because she was starting a new life. After lots of tears, all the guests went to their houses. The shah family reached the villa and welcomed the new member to the family with lots of flowers and dua’s. The Dulhan and Dulha were forced to sit in the lounge where the cousins teased them.
“Meri bhi shadi krwain ab! Mamma! (I also want to get married, mamma!)” Hana suddenly whined. This caused a pin-drop-silence in the room.
“Besharam! (Shameless!)” Dadi jaan scolded hana.
“Hana bachay esay nhi kehtay! (Hana dear, you are not suppose to say that!)” Hiba tried to dissipate the tension and awkwardness from the room.
“Haan beta bolo! Kiya baat krni thi? Khairiyat hai na sab! (Yes son! What did you want to talk about? Is everything alright?)” Dad asked me.
“Jee dad! Sab theek hai! (Yes dad! Everything is alright!) I just wanted to say that I am ready to get married! You all were forcing me to get married so I have decided to do so.” I said. Everyone got happy and all the cousins started to congratulate me and they even made fun of me.
“Wait! I have more to say!” I again said and everyone happily looked at me as there was going to be another marriage very soon.
“I have a girl in mind too! I think she is perfect. I don’t think there is anyone better!” I told them and all the others nodded. They were still happily looking at me but I know that they are gonna be shocked with my choice. I just hope everything to be okay. At least for her!
“Haan beta bolo! Kon hai who! Hum phir us k ghar Rishtay ki baat krnay jatay hain! (Yes son, tell us! Who is she? So that we can go to her place and ask for her hand in marriage!)” Ammi asked me with a beautiful smile. Everyone’s attention was on me and this was making me even more nervous but I have to do this. Now or never!
“Ammi! (Mother!) You don’t have to go anywhere as the girl lives here!” I said. There were multiple reactions but before they can misunderstand and make assumptions, I interrupted them.
“It’s hana! I want to marry hana!” I said after a deep breath. I can see shocked expressions on everyone’s faces.
