Yanis smoothly shifted the conversation away from the sensitive topic. Sandy and Bonnie understood and didn't press further.
Meanwhile, in the other living room, Brandon sat solemnly in front of Stella. As she spoke about certain matters, his mood became somewhat heavy.
"Brandon, I can tell that you genuinely care for Sandy. She says her instincts don't lie, and I trust my judgment too. From now on, I entrust Sandy to you officially. I hope you'll treat her well for the rest of your lives," Stella said softly, looking at Brandon.
Brandon nodded, "Sis, you can trust me. I will take good care of Sandy and cherish her for the rest of our lives."
"Good," Stella replied.
Then, Stella suggested, "By the way, Sandy is pregnant now, and in the beginning, she might experience some discomfort. You still have many things to handle in Viteto. So, why don't you temporarily go back and take care of your business there? Sandy can stay with me during this time, and I'll take care of her."
Upon hearing Stella's suggestion, Brandon responded, "Sis, I will handle the matters at the company as quickly as possible. I've discussed it with my family, and they all agreed. Since Sandy only has you as her relative here, I plan to open a branch of my company in Manches City. This way, Sandy will have time to be with you, and when we have free time, I can take Sandy back to Viteto to stay for a while."
Stella was somewhat surprised by Brandon's decision. "Is this your idea, or did Sandy suggest it?"
Stella worried that Sandy might be willful and make difficult decisions for Brandon. She knew how challenging it could be to develop in an unfamiliar city.
After Stella's question, Brandon replied, "This idea was mine. I had mentioned it to Sandy, but she refused. However, I still believe it's the best choice, and my family agrees."
Encountering a family like the Hawkins family, with strong values, was indeed rare. Most people nowadays were selfish and rarely considered others' feelings.
"Okay, it's your decision. As long as you've decided, I have no objections," Stella said, pausing for a moment before continuing, "Although I'm happy with what you said, Brandon, I want to remind you to consider Sandy's feelings as well as your family's. Don't let them feel neglected."
Brandon nodded, "I understand."
Stella hmmed, "Alright, that's settled then. The formalities you mentioned are enough. I have no demands or objections. As long as you treat Sandy well, nothing else matters. After Sandy settles things here, pick a day to finalize everything. Later, when her pregnancy stabilizes, we can set a date for the wedding, and then we'll all be one family."
Brandon agreed, "Alright, I'll discuss everything with Sandy, and I'll follow her lead."
"Don't let her get too spoiled," Stella advised.
Brandon smiled, "I won't spoil her. Who else should I spoil if not her?"
Stella was surprised by Brandon's indulgence towards Sandy, which exceeded her expectations. She didn't say much and glanced towards the living room. Then, looking back at Brandon, she suggested, "Why don't you and Sandy stay here temporarily tonight? It's better to wait a little longer before moving to the Linen Bay house. After all, Sandy is pregnant. In the next few days, I'll find a place for you two near where I live, and you can stay there for now."
Initially, Stella had thought about letting Sandy and Brandon stay with her, but then she considered the inconvenience, so she decided to find them a separate place for now. They could move into the Linen Bay house later after the renovation and testing for formaldehyde were completed.
"Sis, you don't have to worry. I've already asked someone to find a place. I'll handle these matters," Brandon assured her.
Stella asked, "Do you have any friends here?"
"Mr. Lawrence knows a suitable place. I'll ask for his recommendation," Brandon replied.
After a brief conversation at the door, Stella and Bonnie got into the car and left. After they departed, Yanis turned to Sandy and softly said, "Let's go inside."
Sandy agreed with a nod and linked her arm with Yanis as they walked inside together.
As they made their way inside, Yanis asked, "Are you planning to see Anthony?"
Sandy fell silent for a moment before responding, "Maybe later tonight."
Yanis acknowledged, "It's better to clarify things sooner rather than later."
Sandy nodded. "I know."
Yanis didn't press further and let the matter rest.
Back in the living room, Zane and Brandon were engrossed in a discussion about work. Yanis and Sandy headed upstairs without disturbing them.
After Zane finished talking with Brandon and came upstairs, Yanis had just finished her shower. Zane entered the room and asked, "What were you two talking about for so long?"
Yanis handed Zane a towel. As Zane helped her dry her hair, he replied, "Brandon is considering developing in Manches City, so they chatted for a while."
