Upon hearing this, Travis chuckled as he looked at Bonnie. "Don't say that, I think Mles is quite talented. He must be better than you."
Bending down, Bonnie gave Mles a peck on the cheek and then whispered, "Alright, you teach him painting, and I'll teach him design. He'll definitely surpass both of us in the future."
Since giving birth to Mles, Travis hadn't seen Bonnie smile like this in a while. Seeing her bantering like before, Travis felt instantly relieved. Nothing was more crucial than Bonnie's happiness.
However, looking at the sleeping Mles, Travis couldn't help but think of Myles. In this world, even beyond their relatives, not even all their relatives combined could match how well Myles treated Bonnie. It was understandable that Bonnie couldn't forget him.
"Oh, by the way, Lane came to our house this morning," Travis said softly to Bonnie.
"Lane?" Bonnie didn't react immediately and looked somewhat puzzled.
Travis clarified, "Lawyer Phillips."
Only then did Bonnie realize, "What did he come for? To chat with you?"
Travis looked at Bonnie with a serious tone, "Actually, Lane is not bad. Your dad and I think he's a good person, and he's quite concerned about you..."
"Grandpa," Bonnie interrupted Travis before he could finish his sentence.
Travis paused for a few seconds. "I know you can't let go of it in your heart, and we didn't force you to do anything right now. I just want to tell you that in life, there are many things we can't let go of, but you also shouldn't ignore the people around you. If you don't want to, that's okay too. Just make things clear."
Though Travis spoke like this, he actually hoped Bonnie would come to terms with it sooner. He didn't want her to remain confined to Myles' past forever, unable to move on.
"I understand. I'll come back later," Bonnie whispered. "I'll ask Haider to help find an auntie for Auntie's situation. He often finds cooks for celebrities, so he might know someone."
Travis nodded, "Alright, you handle it."
After leaving the Lawrence's Mansion, Bonnie originally intended to visit the store again. However, midway through her drive, she unconsciously changed her route and went to the cemetery instead.
Standing in front of the tombstone, she looked at Myles' picture. For the first time since Myles' accident, there wasn't an infinite sense of pain in her heart when she saw his photo. It was more like she had grown used to it, just feeling a hint of regret.
Regret for their relationship, regret for Myles.
If they hadn't been so confrontational from the beginning, if they had started being together when they put each other in their hearts, would there be so much regret now?
But in this world, there's no such thing as knowing things early.
There's no "if only" or "what if."
All there is, is reality.
Bonnie stood in front of the tombstone for a long time before turning to leave.
When Bonnie arrived at the store, Yanis was about to leave with Zane. Seeing Bonnie's arrival, Yanis stopped and watched as Bonnie parked her car and got out. She then walked a few steps forward to greet her, "Why did you come back again? Weren't you going to see Mles?"
Bonnie replied, "It's still early, and I haven't been here for a while. I came to take a look, organize some things, come up with new sketches, and design some new pieces."
Yanis nodded in understanding, "That sounds good."
After exchanging greetings, Yanis turned to Zane, nodded at him, and said, "You go back now. I'll return later."
Yanis then got into the car with Zane.
"Yanis," Sandy greeted Yanis with a wave as soon as she saw her.
Yanis walked up to Sandy. "Did you wait long?"
"Not really, we just came out," Sandy replied, then looked at Zane and nodded politely, "Mr. Lawrence."
Zane nodded in acknowledgment and then approached Brandon, who was carrying a suitcase. He took one of the suitcases and said, "Let's get in the car."
Brandon didn't expect Zane to bring Yanis along. After greeting Yanis, Brandon teasingly approached Zane, "Didn't you say you'd come alone? Why so unwilling to part now?"
Zane gave Brandon a calm glance. "Sandy called her too."
Upon hearing this, Brandon hesitated for a moment and glanced at Sandy before sighing. "Fine."
"Do you have something to say?" Brandon hesitated for a few seconds before speaking softly, "Have you ever been to Yanis' house before?"
Zane stopped and looked at Brandon. "Are you nervous?"
Brandon gazed at Zane and retorted, "Can I not be nervous? We haven't even set a wedding date yet, and you've already sown seeds that are sprouting. How can I not be nervous?"
Zane responded, "You can rest assured that Miss Thompson won't hit you."
After speaking, Zane went towards the car, putting the luggage in the trunk. Then he looked back at Brandon who was still standing in place. "Aren't you getting in?"
Brandon took a few steps forward and put his suitcase in the trunk. "I think I might have asked the wrong person. You don't seem like you've been to Yanis' house at all."
