Adam didn't stay for long after speaking and turned to leave.
Yanis watched Adam leave and then turned her gaze to Albi. "Albi, keep the items separate."
Albi nodded in response to Yanis. "Alright, I'll put them in my car for now."
"Good," Yanis replied with a nod.
Just as Albi walked away, Bonnie approached from the side. "Why did he come again? Are the Bennetts so persistent?"
Yanis shook her head. "He came to deliver a gift. I plan to have Albi send it back another day."
When Bonnie heard Yanis' words, she glanced at Yanis. "He sent the gift, so why send it back?"
Yanis hummed in agreement. "Just as you said earlier, if I avoid him like this, and yet he keeps persisting, how can I tolerate his presence?"
"What do you think he wants?" Bonnie asked.
"Regardless of his intentions, I don't want to have any relationship with him," Yanis replied in a low voice.
Bonnie agreed with Yanis' approach. "It's best not to have any involvement. The Bennetts are not good people."
Although Bonnie didn't have the same frequent interactions with the daughters of prestigious families or wealthy ladies like them, she was still involved in this industry and had heard some behind-the-scenes stories that were not widely known. So, she knew that the Bennett family was not a good household.
However, the current state of the Bennett family was also a result of Bruce's excessive ambition.
It was a pity for Mrs. Bennett, who ended up in such a miserable situation.
In the evening, Yanis and Bonnie finally went to Meggie's side after leaving the store.
Today, there were quite a few people in attendance, and although it appeared joyful, Yanis could tell that Bonnie's mind was elsewhere.
Yanis asked Stella and Meggie to help with the guests and then went with Bonnie to Meggie's resting room.
After closing the door, Yanis looked at Bonnie. "He doesn't want to see you like this."
Bonnie made a sound of understanding. "I know. It's just that seeing so many people, I suddenly feel like it would be more lively if he were here."
Bonnie wasn't someone who would hide her emotions inside, but ever since Myles left, she seemed to have learned to conceal herself. Many of her emotions were gradually suppressed.
Even though countless comforting words were spoken, they couldn't fill the void in her heart.
Yanis had also tried to offer words of consolation that sounded comforting, but she knew very well that no amount of comforting words would be effective because that person could never return to Bonnie's heart.
The two of them chatted in the resting room for a while before they adjusted their emotions and prepared to go out.
However, just as they reached the entrance, Yanis' phone rang.
Bonnie looked at Yanis. "It's your significant other, right, making..."
"No, it's Ivan," Yanis interrupted Bonnie before she could finish her sentence.
Bonnie glanced at Yanis upon hearing her words. "Go ahead, answer it."
Yanis picked up the voice call. "Ivan?"
"Congratulations, Boss Thompson," Ivan's voice came through the phone.
Bonnie chimed in, "What about congratulating me?"
"Then why didn't you reply to my message this morning? Don't tell me you didn't see it."
Ivan paused for a few seconds. "Yanis, I..."
"Forget it, I understand how you feel. I can't really help you with the situation with Phoebe. You two are both single, and I don't have the right to say anything. Figure it out on your own."
Ivan felt somewhat helpless. "Yanis, just do me this favor... Why are you here?"
Yanis chuckled softly upon hearing Ivan's words. "Well, I'll go back to being busy now. We can talk later."
After saying that, Yanis hung up the phone before Ivan could say anything. As she walked out of the lounge, Zane happened to enter through the door, talking to Haider about something.
Yanis stood at the staircase and waited for Zane and Haider to approach before speaking, "Haider."
"Yanis, congratulations."
Yanis nodded. "Bonnie is upstairs."
Haider nodded. "I'll go up first."
After Haider left, Yanis looked at Zane. "Why did you come so late? Wasn't it just a small matter?"
Zane naturally held Yanis' hand and walked towards the upper floor. As they walked, he responded, "There were a few other things to take care of, so I handled them together. I asked Albi if there was anything he needed my help with, and since Stella and the others are here today, they can handle everything."
Yanis didn't blame Zane for arriving late. "Then why didn't you let Albi go back and help you? Everyone is busy, but they can manage."
Zane whispered, "I don't want Albi to leave. I'm not at ease."
Upon hearing Zane's words, Yanis understood that Albi must have told Zane about Adam coming here.
