I Become A CEO After Divorce novel Chapter 750

Chapter 750: This Child Has No Connection to Us

Listening to Bonnie's words, Yanis fell silent for a few seconds. "I haven't contacted Anika in the past two days, so I don't know their situation. If they are really together, it's not bad."

Bonnie nodded in agreement. "I think so too. Iris is a good person, at least we know her well."

"But Anika's situation, I don't know when it will completely get better."

Bonnie said earnestly, "It will get better, everything will be alright."

...

In the afternoon, around four o'clock, Zane drove over to pick up Yanis.

Bonnie caught a ride with them.

When the car stopped in front of Cooke Residence, Bonnie looked at both of them. "Do you want to come in and sit?"

Before Yanis could reply, Zane spoke first. "We have plans at the Lawrence family's old mansion tonight, another time."

Bonnie nodded at his response. "Alright, then you two take care. I won't keep you."

Yanis looked at Bonnie as she got out of the car and advised, "Don't forget to apply ointment to your injury. I'll come pick you up tomorrow morning."

Bonnie acknowledged with a "Okay."

Bonnie stood at the entrance, watching Zane's car drive away, and then turned to walk inside.

Her phone buzzed in her pocket, and Bonnie paused, taking out her phone to glance at the message.

It was from Yanis: [Be sure to wait for me tomorrow morning.]

Bonnie replied with a "Okay" before lifting her foot and heading inside.

Just as she reached the entrance, she bumped into Freddy who was coming out from inside.

Father and daughter stopped in their tracks, looking at each other.

"Dad, are you going out?" Bonnie took the initiative to speak.

Freddy responded, "Just going out for a walk."

Bonnie nodded, "And you..."

"Bonnie, is the wound alright? Does it still hurt?" Freddy asked.

Bonnie shook her head, "It doesn't hurt much anymore. As long as it's not touched, it's fine."

"Then accompany me for a walk up ahead," Freddy suggested.

Bonnie hesitated for a few seconds, then nodded and followed Freddy as they walked outside.

In front of Cooke Residence was a large park, with several children playing inside at this time.

Bonnie walked beside Freddy, observing the children on the playground as they swiftly slid down the slides and then ran to the swings on the other side, engaging in various activities.

"When you were little, it was the same. There used to be just a small slide here, and you could play on it all day. Your mother and I couldn't get you to come back no matter how we called you. Only when Myles came to get you did you finally follow him," Freddy stood by Bonnie's side, softly recounting past events.

"In those days, you couldn't play with anyone else except Myles. Even Haider couldn't get a smile from you. Whenever there was something delicious or fun, the first person you thought of was Myles."

Bonnie didn't interrupt Freddy's words, listening as he talked about many things from her childhood with Myles.

It continued until the Hughes family's parents had their accident, and Freddy's voice grew somewhat subdued. "Bonnie, sometimes many things are predetermined by fate, so we can't change them, nor can we change them. But what we can change is the present situation within our control. Have you ever tried to change it?"

After hearing Freddy's words, Bonnie finally spoke, "Dad, are you suggesting that I continue with Myles..."

As Yanis went upstairs, Bonnie was busy packing her clothes.

"Why are you packing clothes for a hospital visit?" Yanis asked while Bonnie stuffed clothes into a bag.

"I checked online, and they said I should wear loose-fitting clothes. I found two loose outfits and prepared some other things, so I won't have to come back to get or buy them later," Bonnie explained.

Yanis looked at her. "You don't really need all this... but... it's fine. Just bring them, but pack less."

Bonnie nodded and packed a few more items before looking at Yanis. "Let's go."

"Did you tell the teacher and Uncle Cooke about this?" Yanis asked as they walked, referring to the Old Mr. Cooke and Freddy.

Bonnie turned to sit beside Yanis and replied, "My dad talked to me last night, and his thoughts are the same as mine. He didn't oppose it."

Upon hearing that, Yanis looked at Bonnie and softly asked, "Bonnie, do you really have no recollection of what happened that day? And how are you sure it was that evening?"

After listening to Yanis, Bonnie fell silent for a while, trying hard to search her memory for that evening, but she still couldn't remember anything.

And during that period, it seemed like nothing had happened between her and Myles, so the only possibility was that it happened on that evening.

"I can't remember," Bonnie replied softly. "But whether it happened or not, it's already like this. Since we've made a decision, let's leave it at that."

Yanis reached out and held Bonnie's hand. "Then let's go."

When they arrived at the hospital and got their ticket number, they realized that there were many people waiting, and their number was over a hundred.

Bonnie looked at the people sitting on the chairs outside and turned to Yanis. "Yanis, are there usually this many people?"

Yanis glanced to the side upon hearing that. "Something's not right. Did we choose the wrong department?"

Bonnie looked down at the paper in her hand. "No, we didn't."
