Chapter 682 Serious Situation

Zane watched Yanis leave and let out a silent sigh. He reached over to grab his phone, intending to call Darin about something they needed to discuss. However, various things had come up and he hadn't gotten around to it until now.

When Yanis mentioned that she and Darin were going to M Country, Zane suddenly remembered that he needed to talk with him. After scrolling through his phone for a moment, Zane found Darin's number and dialed it.

The phone rang a few times before someone answered on the other end. "Mr. Lawrence?"

Zane replied, "Do you have some time? I wanted to chat for a bit."

Darin was currently on video chat with Vivian so after hearing Zane's request, he paused for a few seconds before responding: "I might be busy for a while since I'm in the middle of something."

Zane nodded in understanding and said: "No worries then. Just shoot me a message when you're free later on and we can talk then."

Darin agreed: "Sure thing! Once I'm done here I'll give you call back directly."

After hanging up the phone with Darin, Zane went downstairs where their housekeeper was calling him down for dinner.

Yanis was still busy preparing dinner in the kitchen while Dr. Wood had called earlier asking them not feed Anika anything yet as she planned on bringing her food over shortly.

Dr. Wood sighed over the phone saying: "She's not eating anything at all no matter what we try."

Zane reassured her saying: "Don't worry about it too much; once we get there maybe we can coax her into eating something."

After ending their conversation with Dr. Wood, Yanis began preparing several dishes that Anika used enjoy eating hoping this would help encourage her appetite.

As Zane looked at all of the food laid out on table waiting patiently for them all eat together as family again , he couldn't help but glance towards kitchen where Yanis was still working hard preparing more dishes . After noticing Zane's gaze, Auntie explained, "Mrs. Shao said she helped Miss Lawrence prepare some of her favorite dishes for you to eat first. She'll join Miss Lawrence for dinner later."

Zane listened and walked into the kitchen. "Is it not ready yet?"

Yanis heard his voice and turned around to look at him. "You go ahead and eat. I'll be done in a minute."

"I can help you finish cooking so we can all eat together," Zane offered.

Yanis blocked him at the door. "You go ahead and eat what Auntie has prepared for you. These dishes are not meant for you."

In the end, Zane ate at home before going with Yanis to South Hospital.

When they arrived at South Hospital's entrance, Dr. Wood was walking outside with Anika.

Anika stopped when she saw Yanis and Zane but didn't say anything; her expression changed slightly though.

"Dr. Wood, have you had dinner yet?" Yanis greeted him first.

"I'm waiting for you guys," Dr. Wood replied while glancing at Anika. "I told her that you were coming today so she agreed to come out with me."

Yanis replied with "Have you eaten dinner yet?"

"I just finished eating thanks to Jefferson. How about you?"

Yanis adjusted his front camera so that Iris could see their dirty dishes still on the table. "We just finished too."

As she saw Anika in the background of Yanis's video feed, she asked: "Are you at Anika's place? I heard about her relapse."

Iris wanted to visit but couldn't due to being hospitalized herself.

She had planned on calling Anika but knew that she was at South Hospital where phone usage was limited due to concerns over negative comments affecting her already unstable emotional state as advised by Dr. Wood.

"Anika, can you say hi to Iris?" Yanis asked after moving closer towards her side of the screen.

Anika stared at Iris for a few seconds before shaking her head without speaking up.

After some small talk between Yanis and an improved-looking Iris who seemed more energetic than before following recovery time,

"Anika," Yanis said turning back towards his girlfriend,"Iris is doing okay now; she might be able leave soon within these two days or so. Would it be alright if we ask her come visit when she does get out?"

But after hearing this news from Yanis , Anikashookedher head lightly while saying ,"This isn't good here."
