I Become A CEO After Divorce novel Chapter 627

Chapter 627: A Feeling of Abandonment

Linda steadied the person, "Boss, are you okay?"

Bonnie was also startled just now. She regained her composure and stood firmly. She gently shook her head at Linda, "I'm fine. You guys go back to work and we'll all leave after we finish."

After speaking, Bonnie walked towards the door.

Linda was worried, "Boss, take it slow."

Bonnie waved at Linda and took a few steps out of the door.

As Bonnie went out, Yanis had just driven her car from the parking lot on one side.

The car stopped next to Bonnie.

Before Yanis could roll down the window, Bonnie had already opened the car door and bent down to sit inside.

"Don't overthink." After Bonnie sat in the car, Yanis whispered softly.

Bonnie absentmindedly responded with an "okay," then said nothing else as she leaned against her seat, looking outside through the window.

Yanis wanted to speak several times, but seeing how Bonnie was feeling right now made her swallow her words instead. Sometimes comforting words don't really help; they only make people more anxious. So after struggling for a while with what she wanted to say but didn't know how to express it properly without making things worse for her, Yanis decided not to say anything at all and focused on driving instead.

It wasn't rush hour, so there weren't many cars on their way there .

Yanis drove faster than usual along their route from their studio until they arrived in front of Gotrend Entertainment building in less than twenty minutes .

After parking her car , turning off its engine , Yanis turned around facing Bonnie ,"Bonnie , we're here ."

Bonnie nodded before undoing her seat belt , opening up the door and then getting out .

Yanis followed suit without delay by unbuckling her own seatbelt and then exiting as well .

Perhaps Haider had already informed the reception beforehand, because when they entered, no one stopped them or asked any questions. The receptionist knew who Bonnie was, so she led them straight into a private elevator saying ,"Mr. Hughes is waiting upstairs for you two."

At this moment, Bonny wasn't really in any mood to respond, so only Yanis nodded towards the receptionist, saying ,"Okay, thanks."

The elevator doors closed slowly as it began ascending upwards

Yanis reached over holding Bonnie's hand, wanting to let her know that she was here accompanying beside her. When Bonnie felt Yanis' hand, she turned to look at her with a hoarse voice. "Yanis, I'm fine."

Yanis wanted to say "You don't look fine," but when she saw the redness in Bonnie's eyes, she struggled to find the right words and ended up saying, "Don't worry too much. Let's see what Haider has to say."

Bonnie nodded and tightly held onto Yanis' hand for support as the elevator quickly stopped with a ding. They both stepped out of the elevator and were met by Haider's assistant Eduard.

"Miss Cooke, Miss Thompson," Eduard greeted them.

Bonnie asked Eduard directly, "Albi, where is Haider?"

Eduard checked his watch before responding softly. "Please wait in Mr. Hughes' office for a while; he still has some unfinished business that should be done in about ten minutes."

Eduard led them towards Haider's office as Bonnie and Yanis followed behind him.

After about four or five seconds passed by in silence, Evan's voice came through again from her phone: "Bonnie, I don't know much about Myles' situation. He always makes his own decisions and doesn't consult with me or anyone else. So I really don't know where he went."

"Do you really not know or are you just not telling me?" Bonnie pressed him.

Evan sounded wronged when he responded: "I really don't know! The last time I saw him was the night before he went to the Hughes' old mansion."

There was no hint of lying in Evan's words.

"I see. Sorry to bother you," said Bonnie before hanging up the phone.

The office suddenly became eerily quiet as Yanis watched as Bonnie's mood sank even lower than before. She reached over and handed her a glass of water, saying "If there's anything big going on, Haider will definitely tell you."

Taking Yanis' offered cup of water into her hands, she said "Yanis…"

"Hmm?"

"I'm…a little scared."

She couldn't explain why she felt this way all of sudden, but something inside her made her feel uneasy about what might happen next with Myles gone missing like this.

"Myles is sensible; if there is something going on, then even if he hides it from everyone else, he won't hide it from you, let alone Haider."

Normally Bonnie would agree with Yanis' words, but this time she had an overwhelming feeling that Myles had abandoned everyone including herself and Haider...
