Zane raised his eyes to meet Ivan's gaze. "No matter how much you love her, it's impossible."
Listening to Zane, Ivan turned the corner of his lips a little self-deprecatingly. "I know."
"So I'll take care of Yanis."
The meaning of Zane's words was obvious.
It was reminding Ivan not to get involved.
The two leaned against the wall, looking at each other. The atmosphere was tense.
For a long time, Ivan first retracted his gaze and nodded. "OK."
That done, Ivan paused for a few seconds and then asked, "Do you need the information?"
Zane hesitated for a few seconds. "Well, just give it to the police."
Hearing his words, Ivan was a bit surprised but he didn't say anything. "I see."
"I'll go downstairs."
Ivan responded, "Well, shall we have dinner together?"
"OK."
Looking at Zane's back as he left, Ivan stood at the same position and shouted, "Zane."
In the past, Ivan usually called him Mr. Lawrence when he met Zane.
It was rare to call him like this.
Hearing his sound, Zane stopped and turned to looked at Ivan who was standing by the wall. "What's wrong?"
Ivan stood straight. "You're not quite about thirty years old and Yanis's young. There is still a long way to go in the future. If you're not good to her, I'll spare no effort to snatch her."
After his words, Zane raised his eyebrows. "You'll never have the chance."
Ivan smiled. "I hope so. I don't want to have such a chance."
Zane stared at Ivan for a few seconds and turned to leave.
Seeing Zane leave, Ivan kept twisting his eyebrows.
He didn't appear every time Yanis was ignored and ridiculed.
Nor did he go to Zane to demand justice for Yanis.
He didn't even fight Zane because of Yanis.
It was not that he didn't think about it or dared not.
It was that he didn't want Yanis to be in a dilemma.
After all, he knew better than anyone at that time how much Yanis loved Zane.
In other words, Yanis loved Zane so much that no one could interfere.
If he had actually done something, perhaps his relationship with Yanis would have become very subtle.
So subtle that there was a barrier between them that they couldn't overcome.
…
When Zane came down, the hotel staff was still at the door. Seeing Zane come over, she bowed to him respectfully. " Mr. Lawrence, Mrs. Lawrence has been in the room and didn't come out."
Zane nodded. "Thank you."
"My pleasure."
All he could do now was just holding her tightly.
After Yanis words, she didn't speak again and kept holding Zane.
Zane took her in his arms, put Yanis in bed and lay down next to Yanis. He said as he pulled Yanis into his arms, "Yanis, I'll be with you. Close your eyes and have a nap, alright?"
It took a while for Yanis to answer him. She moved slightly against Zane's arms, clutching Zane's clothes tightly as if Zane would disappear if she let go.
When it was getting dark outside, Zane moved slightly.
He was about to get up when Yanis clutched his clothes. Zane lay back down again and said softly, "I won't leave. I'll always be there."
After repeated assurances, Yanis fell asleep again.
It was probably the longest time Yanis has slept since the accident.
After making sure Yanis was asleep, Zane got out of bed lightly.
That was when Albi called him.
Zane glanced at Yanis and went to the bathroom to answer the phone.
After getting through, Albi's voice sounded, "Mr. Lawrence, the police have taken Lucia for interrogation
Zane replied, "Well, did you find the flight attendant?"
"Mr. Hughes found her hiding in the black market. Maybe Finley Bennett have people help her to hide. He planned to send her away in the evening but was stopped by Mr. Hughes."
After his words, Zane said without much emotion, "Well, continue to keep an eye on her without further action. We'll come back tomorrow."
Albi responded, "Mr. Lawrence… Miss Cooke wants to talk with Mrs. Lawrence."
"She just fell asleep. Wait a while after she wakes up." . Zane paused for a few seconds after speaking and then asked, "How's everything going with Finley Bennett?"
