"He... he..."
Sandy had seen situations like this before, but Nelson's behavior truly caught her off guard.
"Surprised?" Brandon raised his hand to block Sandy's direct gaze at the scene inside the car.
Sandy turned to face Brandon, playing along. "Not surprised, just... a bit intrigued?"
"... Intrigued?" Brandon raised an eyebrow. "Intrigued by what?"
Sandy chuckled, speaking in a hushed voice. "Well, it's kind of nice to look at."
Brandon looked at her, about to say something, when Sandy's voice chimed in again. "Do you even know if Nelson is on top or... uh..."
Sandy's words were cut off by Brandon placing a hand over her mouth. "Let's head home."
"Okay." Sandy obediently followed Brandon to the car.
What Brandon didn't expect was that Sandy had already been chatting with Nelson early in the morning.
"Really? You said that?" Sandy seemed excited. "Alright, I'll go find... this afternoon."
"Are you free?" Brandon picked up the phone and activated the speaker. "If you're not busy, I can have my uncle arrange something for you. Maybe take over some international business?"
Nelson quickly hung up the phone upon hearing this.
Sandy looked at Brandon in disbelief. "Brandon, why did you hang up my call?"
"He hung up himself!" Brandon put the phone on the table and looked at her. "Up so early?"
"I woke up." Sandy replied, reaching for her phone, but Brandon grabbed it before her. "Time to get up, wash up, and have breakfast downstairs."
Sandy looked up at him and started to pout. "Don't wanna, not hungry, not in the mood!"
Brandon observed her and suddenly burst into laughter. "Are you so curious about Nelson?"
Sandy nodded involuntarily, then quickly shook her head. "No, we were just talking about other things."
Brandon might not know Sandy inside and out, but he was pretty confident in his 90% understanding of her. So, when Sandy said this, he naturally didn't believe it.
Sandy tugged at the hem of Brandon's shirt and whispered, "Brandon, have you decided about the photo shoot?"
Brandon looked at her and replied, "I'm planning to check it out later. But your sister said there's this...?"
"No need. I talked to Nelson. We're going to see the place in the afternoon. He showed me some finished shots, and I really liked the style. I decided to go with it." Sandy's decision on the photo shoot surprised Brandon.
Brandon had been about to say something, but seeing Sandy's expression, he held back the words on his lips. "Alright, let's have lunch and go check it out in the afternoon."
Seeing that Brandon agreed, Sandy smiled, then quickly got up and hurried into the bathroom.
Taking advantage of Sandy's absence, Brandon turned to make a call to Nelson.
The call was picked up quickly, but the voice on the other end wasn't Nelson's.
"Looking for Nelson?" The person on the line was courteous.
Though Brandon was aware of Nelson's situation, the abruptness of the situation caused him to momentarily hesitate. He then proceeded to say, "Yes, I need to speak with him about something."
The voice on the other end of the line was warm and steady. "Certainly, I'll transfer you."
Soon, Nelson came on the line. "Brandon, need something?"
Brandon rubbed his forehead. "Did you talk to Sandy about the photo shoot?"
Upon hearing Brandon's words, Nelson first seemed taken aback and then let out a soft chuckle. "Yeah, I showed her Jim Bart's finished work. She really liked the style, so I suggested it, and she agreed."
He couldn't help it. Watching Nelson fawn over Jim like that was just... beneath him.
Seeing Brandon and Sandy, Nelson
finally left Jim's side and approached them. "Why did you take so long? I've been waiting here for ages. I thought you guys couldn't find the place."
Ignoring Nelson's comment, Brandon turned to him and asked in a low voice, "Is there a financial issue with the Penn family?"
Nelson blinked at Brandon's sudden question, then he chuckled. "What do you mean?"
Brandon gave him an appraising look. "You have any idea how pathetic you looked just now?"
Nelson finally caught on and laughed. "You wouldn't understand."
Brandon nodded. "You're right."
Nelson brushed off Brandon's comment and turned to Sandy. "Sandy, let's head inside. Jim will be done soon."
Sandy nodded. "Alright."
Nelson led Sandy and Brandon inside, where they were offered some water before being guided to a separate room.
"Feel free to take a seat. Make yourselves at home," Nelson said with a smile.
Brandon motioned for Sandy to sit first, then turned to Nelson. "Have you started thinking of this place as your home?"
Nelson nodded confidently. "Well, when it comes to family, there are no secrets."
Brandon raised an eyebrow. "... We're already family?"
The camaraderie and banter between Brandon, Sandy, and Nelson continued as they settled into the room.
