I Become A CEO After Divorce novel Chapter 1066

Chapter 1066: What Do You Like About Me?

After arriving at the company, Brandon took Sandy to his office. "Wait for me here for a while. Once I'm done, we'll head back. If you need anything, you can find someone at the entrance. Berton is also around."

Sandy nodded. "Go ahead and handle your work."

Brandon acknowledged her and, before leaving, leaned in to plant a soft kiss on Sandy's lips. "If you're tired, you can rest in the lounge inside. I'll sort things out quickly."

Sandy nodded again. "Alright."

Once Brandon had arranged everything for Sandy, he hurriedly left the office.

Sandy watched him leave and was about to get up to explore the office when her phone rang.

Upon seeing the caller ID, Sandy hesitated for a moment before answering, "Mr. Austin."

"So, you're back to addressing me formally so quickly?" Anthony's lazy voice came through the phone.

Sandy tightened her grip on the phone. "Anthony."

Anthony responded, "That's more like it. I guess it wasn't in vain that I shamelessly followed you to Viteto."

His words were quite straightforward.

Sandy fell silent for a moment. "When are you going back to Manchester City?"

"Why? Want me to leave? Don't want to cause trouble for Brandon?" Anthony asked.

Speaking in a hushed tone, Sandy said, "If you're available tomorrow, I'd like to invite you to dinner."

Anthony was surprised by Sandy's request but laughed. "Sure, I'm free anytime tomorrow."

Sandy paused for a moment and then softly called out, "Anthony."

"What is it?"

"Which part of me do you like?" Sandy asked over the phone.

After hearing Sandy's question, Anthony was silent for a few seconds before playfully asking, "Which part of Brandon do you like? Let me try and see if I can change myself to match your preferences."

Anthony's response shifted the question back to Sandy.

And the answer was quite evident.

When you like someone, you just do.

No specific reasons or explanations.

She liked Brandon.

Anthony liked her.

Sandy pursed her lips and didn't say anything further. She simply whispered, "See you tomorrow then?"

Anthony made a sound of agreement. This time, he didn't wait for Sandy to hang up; he ended the call first.

Sandy held the phone for a moment, then turned and sat on the nearby couch. Perhaps due to the exhaustion of the past few days, Sandy started to feel drowsy. Before she knew it, her eyes closed, and she fell asleep.

When Brandon finished his work and returned to the office, the first thing he noticed was Sandy, half-reclining on the couch, fast asleep.

Berton was still speaking, but Brandon gestured for him to stop and whispered, "You handle that matter. Make sure to send the compensation as soon as possible."

Berton paused as Brandon interrupted. Then he cast a glance inside the office, and when he saw Sandy asleep on the couch, he swallowed his words and whispered, "Understood."

Finishing his response, Berton hesitated for a moment before adding, "Mr. Hawkins, would you like me to drive you back later?"

Brandon pondered for a few seconds before replying, "You can go ahead and drive. I'll come down later."

Berton nodded and excused himself before leaving.

Entering the office, Brandon closed the door behind him and approached Sandy. He crouched down in front of her and couldn't resist reaching out to touch her face. Softly, he called out, "Sandy?"

Sandy, being a light sleeper, opened her eyes and glanced at Brandon. Recognizing him, she naturally extended her hand toward him. "Tired."

Brandon reached out and pulled her into his arms. "Shall we head home?"

Sandy mumbled in agreement, leaning against Brandon as if she were boneless.

Brandon bent down, scooped her up into his arms, and turned to leave.

"Who's Brandon carrying!?"

As soon as Brandon entered the elevator, chaos erupted in the office.

beside her, only to find an empty space.

The remnants of sleepiness vanished in an instant. Sitting up, Sandy looked around to get her bearings before throwing off the covers and getting out of bed.

Once she left her room, Sandy still couldn't see Brandon anywhere.

"Brandon?"

Sandy called out.

However, there was no response for a moment.

Sandy could only sigh and walk over to the living room couch. She slumped down tiredly onto it.

Just then, the sound of the front door opening reached her ears.

Sandy looked up.

Brandon entered the apartment, and upon seeing Sandy, he quickly set down the things in his hands. Taking a few steps forward, he crouched down in front of Sandy. "Awake?"

Sandy, a bit slow to react, gazed at Brandon and softly inquired, "Where did you go?"

"Bought a few things. Are we staying here for the next couple of days?" Brandon asked gently.

Sandy nodded. "Yes."

After a moment's pause, Sandy remembered that her sister Stella was also here. "My sister is here too."

"I'll have the guest room prepared for her later," Brandon assured.

Sandy didn't object and nodded. Then, looking at Brandon, she asked, "Are we not going back today?"

Brandon glanced at his watch. "Take your time. We'll head back soon. I got a call from my sister just now. She said dinner is ready at home."

Sandy didn't want to keep them waiting. After Brandon finished speaking, she stood up and said, "I'm ready. Let's go back quickly and not keep them waiting."

Seeing Sandy's determination, Brandon couldn't help but chuckle softly. "Alright."

Sandy got up, turned, and headed to the bathroom to freshen up. After a quick wash, she joined Brandon at the door, and they left together, heading to the Hawkins family residence.
