Chen Hao was proficient in mind reading.
For anyone who was weaker than him, Chen Hao could see through their thoughts just with a glance.
When he met Meng Xi just now, Chen Hao had already understood the whole situation.
Not only Yang Yan was black-hearted, she was rather wild as well. When jealousy took over a woman, she could be quite lethal.
Chen Hao was worried that the girl named Meng Xi might meet some troubles, hence he brought Ma Xiaonan along to look for her.
Actually, the entire course of events was very simple.
Around a week ago, before Yang Yan went for her study trip, she went to Meng Xi’s house and called her out of the house.
She wanted Yang Yan to help her with something—to follow Ma Xiaonan secretly and think of a way to steal her scholarship and accuse her after that.
In the meantime, she would ask her husband’s underlings to support her furtively.
If Meng Xi agreed, the full amount of the two hundred thousand that she stole would belong to her. With that money, she could use it to cure her mother’s disease.
Half a month ago, Meng Xi’s mother had been diagnosed as a terminal disease patient.
Even though her family was poor, and her father was not around anymore, Meng Xi couldn’t bring herself to steal money.
However, Yang Yan threatened her that she would try every way to terminate Meng Xi’s scholarship, and even make her unable to take the university’s entrance exam.
Not just that, she might be unable to graduate from high school.
As her mother’s biggest wish was to see Meng Xi enter university, Meng Xi was terrified. She had a hard time sleeping, for she was torn between her conscience and the unethical actions she was told to do.
It was until Yang Yan started pulling strings to expel Meng Xi that she agreed to this.
At that time, Meng Xi started following Ma Xiaonan secretly until she withdrew the money. Then, during one night, Meng Xi entered the finance office with a set of spare keys which were already copied.
The security cameras were already cut off by the underlings of Yang Yan’s husband.
This was how the entire accusation of Ma Xiaonan happened.
When Chen Hao saw Meng Xi, her thoughts were actually quite simple.
It wasn’t difficult reading her thoughts at all.
Seeing that Meng Xi was a victim herself, and she was a good girl both in school and at home, Chen Hao wanted to clear everything up for Ma Xiaonan, and save Meng Xi as well.
If she really used the two hundred thousand for her mother’s medical fees, she definitely couldn’t take the university’s entrance exam, and she might even be facing jail. Her life would be ruined, and her mother’s condition might worsen out of rage. Her family would be broken apart.
In Chen Hao’s opinion, Yang Yan was wicked to the core.
When he was in the headmaster’s office just now, Chen Hao even had the urge to hit her to death.
After hearing Chen Hao's explanation, Ma Xiaonan covered her mouth in fear.
She definitely believed Chen Hao’s words, but she couldn’t believe that Yang Yan picked on her to this extent.
The dark side of humanity made Ma Xiaonan shiver.
“What about Meng Xi? If this is true, Meng Xi’s life could be ruined! She works so hard for herself!” Ma Xiaonan asked worriedly.
“It’s still not too late now. But I presume that Yang Yan would have people keeping tabs on her, so we have to hurry!”
Chen Hao drove quickly.
In no time, they reached a slum area in the suburbs of Jin Ling.
From afar, they saw Meng Xi’s house.
She had a thermos container in her hands, obviously taking some food that she had just made to her mother’s place.
When she was locking the door, two black cars stopped in front of her briefly.
Around five-six bulky men got down from the car. They had buzz cuts and gold necklaces around their necks, with bags sandwiched between their elbows and cigarettes in their mouths. They then blocked Meng Xi’s way.
“Sugar, rushing to send some food to your mother?” the leader of the gang sneered coldly.
“Y-You guys again! I’ve already done what you told me to. Why do you pester me again?” Meng Xi took a step back fearfully, holding her thermos container tightly.
“Argh!” He let out a painful shriek.
Then, Chen Hao hit him with his baton. The man’s skull was smashed and he was sent flying backward.
“You bastard! Let’s charge!”
The eyelids of the leader of the gang twitched furiously.
He was the fastest among them. Although he weighed at 200 kilos, his movements were not clumsy at all.
He was also very smart—he aimed for Chen Hao’s head and immediately kicked after sprinting toward him.
Chen Hao, however, raised the big metal baton and slammed it into his leg.
“Argh!”
His calves folded into his thighs in the opposite direction, with his soles touching his thighs.
The angle of distortion was terrifying.
The man let out a bloodcurdling scream and lay in front of Chen Hao, spasming violently.
“I don’t even have to hit you with my fists, you jerks!” Chen Hao said stonily.
He grabbed the man’s ear, ripped it down, and tossed it aside.
Bleeding profusely, he was in so much pain until he almost fainted.
The remaining men had just realized that they were no match for Chen Hao as he was so powerful that even their leader was beaten up by him.
Moreover, his attack—by tearing their ears off—was simply too ruthless!
At that instant, they threw their daggers away and tried to make a run for it.
However, they couldn’t get away as Chen Hao chased after them, hitting them one after another using his baton. Soon, they were all on the ground as Chen Hao casually ripped their ears off and fed them to the stray dogs.
