His Housewife Had Secret Identities novel Chapter 798

Niamh watched him go, thinking that his broad back looked terribly lonely in that moment.

In reality, Marlin’s cry of “Daddy” wasn’t meant for Flynn at all. On every previous video call, he had seen Jonathan, and he assumed this time would be no different. But instead, Flynn’s face appeared on the screen.

Niamh could tell what Marlin was thinking. Flynn, for his part, had been initially embarrassed when Marlin called him Daddy, but he quickly realized from the boy’s expression that it was a mistake. Marlin was still chanting “Daddy” over and over, not calling to him, but demanding that his real father—Jonathan—come and replace this impostor.

Flynn’s mouth twitched. He turned and whispered to Niamh, “This kid is just like Jonathan. So temperamental and hard to please. Look at him, he looks like he wants to eat me alive. I’m telling you, boss, this is the kind of thing that gives me nightmares. It should count as an occupational hazard.”

Niamh couldn’t help but roll her eyes. The old Flynn was a womanizer, ruled by his desires. But ever since he’d been kicked out of Aldonia, he seemed to have lost all interest in romance and now had eyes only for money.

“I’ll give you a bigger end-of-year bonus, alright?”

“Thank you, boss! Your son is destined for greatness.”

Tired of his flattery, Niamh instinctively glanced toward the kitchen, but Jonathan hadn't emerged. She walked over and, just as she reached the doorway, heard a sharp crash. Jonathan had dropped his coffee mug.

When he saw her, he immediately apologized. “Sorry, my hand slipped. I lost my grip.”

“Is that really what’s important right now?” Niamh snapped, because his hand was bleeding.

“You’re a grown man, how can you be so careless?” she chided as she rushed to treat his wound.
