“Ms. Rivers, are you absolutely sure about this?” Wade, the lawyer, asked grimly after glancing over the papers.

Niamh offered a relaxed smile. “What’s there to be unsure about? You don’t actually think a charitable foundation holds that much appeal for me, do you?”

“That’s not it… As the head of The Thomas Group, it’s understandable that you’d look down on a small foundation.”

“Don’t misunderstand,” Niamh said, waving a hand dismissively. “I just don’t want to have anything to do with the Quinn family anymore.”

“I see…” Wade didn’t press the matter. If Niamh wanted to waive her inheritance, his job was simply to process it.

They walked out of the conference room one after the other, just as Ramona approached from the opposite direction. Niamh watched as Wade and Ramona passed each other.
