His Housewife Had Secret Identities novel Chapter 320

“Mr. Thomas…”

Prescott spoke up softly from beside him.

“Mr. Thomas?”

Jonathan snapped out of his thoughts and looked over at Prescott, the stamped divorce papers still clenched in his hand.

Prescott’s expression grew awkward.

“Mr. Thomas, let me hold on to these divorce papers for now. As soon as the wedding’s over tomorrow, I’ll take care of the consular certification right away—”

Before Prescott could finish, he noticed Jonathan’s gaze turning sharper by the second, icy and full of displeasure.

A chill crept up the back of Prescott’s neck as he finally realized he’d overstepped.

“I’m sorry, Mr. Thomas. I understand what you mean.”

Prescott apologized sincerely, then watched as Jonathan handed him the two documents.

“Keep them safe.”

“Yes, sir.”

“You know what to do.”

“Yes, sir.”

Prescott tucked the divorce papers neatly into his briefcase.

“Mr. Thomas…”

At that moment, Jim approached Jonathan, beaming.

“Let me introduce you, Mr. Thomas. This is the geneticist I mentioned earlier—the latest addition to our CelestiMed team, Dr. Jarrett.”

Jonathan lifted his eyes, finally giving the stranger before him a proper look.

The young man was dressed in a perfectly pressed white suit, his features delicate and almost cherubic. He could have passed for someone just out of college, which made it hard for Jonathan to believe he was truly a genetics expert—unless he was some sort of prodigy.

“Mr. Thomas, it’s an honor to meet you. I’m Jarrett. I can’t tell you how grateful I am for the chance to work with you.”

With that, he raised his wine glass to Jonathan and turned to leave.

“Wait.”

Jonathan’s deep voice stopped Jarrett in his tracks. Jarrett smiled faintly, still facing away.

Jonathan instructed Prescott to gather everyone involved with the FZZL project, including both security guards. Together, they followed Jonathan out of the ballroom.

Niamh watched as Jonathan and the CelestiMed team left, realizing they must have business to attend to.

Meanwhile, Marina was chatting with Susy.

They hadn’t been close before, but Marina figured it couldn’t hurt to build some rapport with the bride.

“What’s got you so happy?” Susy asked, noticing the sudden, bright smile on Marina’s face.

“Oh, nothing. Just spotted someone I know.”

Marina pulled her gaze back, but a moment earlier, she’d been watching the young man in the white suit who had just left with Jonathan’s group.
