Right before Celestine could complete her words, Amara made a shot, successfully hitting the ball into the distant hole in one shot.
Everyone looked surprised at her shot, including Tobias who had never seen his ex wife play and Celestine who believed that Amara didn’t have any talent when it came to golfing.
If only she knew Amara was the best golfer In her family.
“Amazing!” Bethany clapped.
“I’m not bad, am I?”
“Not at all, in fact,” She turned to Tobias with a smirk. “If I were Tobias I would be shaking in my pants right now.”
Tobias didn't say anything but his gaze remained on Amara and when she looked his way, she could once again see that look of amusement swirling in his eyes, but in seconds, it was gone and she looked away.
Celestine who saw this, frowned, but kept quiet.
Picking up her golf club, Bethany announced. "Get ready Mr. Larsen, you're definitely gonna lose this match."
Tobias chuckled lowly and muttered. "I'm looking forward to that miracle happening."
The first part of the match stared good for Amara and Bethany. Neither of them was behind the other and they were pretty much on equal grounds, putting their partnership together to overthrow Tobias and Celestine who turned to not be as good as golf as she was boasting to be, in between games.
Towards the end of the game, Amara's scores seemed to be on par with Tobias's and they were tied.
"Oh my, we're both in a tie. I wonder who's going to win." Bethany mused, watching as Tobias and Amara both got in position to take the next shot.
But just then, her phone began to ring and the female excused herself.
As she was gone, Tobias finally spoke up.
Amara’s jaw tensed, and her fist balled up, but just then, Bethany returned. “Did I miss something?” She looked between Tobias and Amara, who both looked like they were about to pounce each other.
“Not at all.” Amara said and looked at her. “We’re just getting friendly during the game.”
“About the game,” Bethany raised her phone. “I just got a call, I have to leave for a family emergency. How about we continue this sometime. And look,” She pointed at the score board. “It’s currently a tie.”
“Then,” Tobias began, his gaze fixed on Amara. “How about a rematch, some other time.”
“Agreed, at least, that is if you agree to bring another partner, Ms. White is just awful at golf.”
Amara chuckled while Celestine went red from head to toe. She looked like she was about to cry when Tobias agreed to the condition.
“Alright, I’ll see you both soon.” With a peck on the lip for Amara and a court hug for Tobias, Bethany excited the golf course, leaving Amara alone with the two people she absolutely hated.
